The Car

What a truly bizarre story. I kept reading it...so that's saying something. I still cannot figure out what the point was.

'The Car' is a truly unique and well thought out work of speculative fiction. I choose to label it thusly because, while not really hard sci-fi or fantasy, there are odd and otherworldly elements to the story. Told from several different perspectives, the narrative follows a disordered order that allows the reader to gleen different meanings from the story depending on how they approach it. I don't think I would be remiss in saying this is a highly allegoric book; one that focuses on the subjectiveness of truth and religious belief. The laconic prose flow easily and make turning the page something to look forward to. Give it a shot if you are looking for a quick read that both original and thought provoking.

Very interesting concept, with a couple of inspired thought provoking characters. But I dislike the lack of continuity and the missing explanation of the world. The world is so interesting, it would have been nice to have some backstory there, even if it was just hinted at. This could be made into a much longer more complex story that would in my opinion be much more appealing.
