The Third Avenue El Demolition in the Bronx - Tremont Avenue to Gun Hill Road

This is a thin, amateurish book with decent but not really crisp photos. I actually bought all three available volumes of this book and finished all of them in fifteen minutes. Unless you live in the immediate neighborhood of Third Avenue in the Bronx, this book has little appeal. I have dozens of books related to the NYC transit system, and these are a big disappointment.

Chronicles street by street the demolition of the Third Avenue El. Especially of interest to Bronxites. I rode the Third Avenue "El" often from Fordham Road to its terminus at East 149th Street when I worked for NY Tel on East 150 & Melrose. Then, on occasion, north to Gun Hill Road where I changed for the ride to the Mt. Vernon line or south to Manhattan.

excellent book.can't say enough good about it!!!!!!! i remember the el and have always hoped for a book like this.
