The Art and Making of The Expanse

I think this book is a great buy. It's pretty large, and most art books are not cheap. I paid $24 and got free shipping so I feel that is a lot of bang for the buck. If you enjoy the show and you're into technical details/logos/sketches, you'll like this! Don't buy it expecting to learn all of the show's secrets, but as others mention, it does give you nice little tidbits that you wouldn't be able to find elsewhere. The ONE complaint I have (and given this is an artbook I am left scratching my head) is that some of the images are literally pixelated because they took a small resolution and blew it up. I cannot figure out for the life of me why whomever published this thought that was okay. It isn't hugely detracting, just a little annoying they couldn't use higher res images for some of the pages. Other than that, it is awesome. I'm super pleased and it is exactly what I was hoping/expecting.

So... I might be slightly obsessed with The Expanse series after deciding to buy this book (or killing time while waiting for the weekly releases for the next episode 😭), but I’ve never come across a better TV series in a long time (and I’m not typically a fan of Sci-Fi). Such an amazing plot that clearly mirrors the political, economic, and social plights of today and recent world history.. and it just gets better and better. This book delves deeper into the making of this incredible show with beautiful graphics and fun facts I would’ve never known. Brings me more appreciation for the show and the work that was put in. PS- my book arrived in literally perfect condition (and was packaged very well for delivery). No complaints :D

It's a beautifully produced book that illuminates details of the series and the really impressive amount of work and attention to physical and conceptual detail that was involved. Conceptual artwork and set photos are included along with a lot of info about many things that go by too fast in the "film", showing how thorough the makers were in conceiving all parts of the story. Read the books. They are even more complex and impressive than the series, though the series really does the stories justice, considering the limits of video storytelling.

This book is gorgeous! Stunning hi-resolution images from the show and concept art. Plus fascinating behind-the-scenes details about production. I didn't realize that the flapping bird that Miller saw in Ceres was flying strangely because the animators took the trouble of figuring out how a differently a bird would fly in one-third gravity.

This is a beautifully printed and bound book. Better than expected!.

An excellent collection of designs developed for the tv series, and it features a great 2-page introduction that explains how the storyline was developed before it became a tv series. The book could have been better if it had included quotes from each of the actors about their characters - and it seems as if that was intended since there are a few sentences from one or two of them. More problematically, the book has been printed too dark. Much of the artwork, and most of the photos that depict intentionally dimly-lit sets, are difficult to see. That is either the fault of the printer or the publisher - but either way it is disappointing that a book that was so well designed was let down in the final step of being printed on paper. If it is ever reprinted with better levels I might buy it again.

My boyfriend and I are both huge Expanse fans. This book is fantastic!

I love the novels and the show. This book is filled with photos of sets and props from the series. You can really see how much passion they have for every piece.Support your favorite shows.

If you like The Expanse you need to own this.You will sit there thumbing through it as soon as you open it.Great pictures & Great insight into design process of the show.My only gripe is I wish the picture were a little brighter in paces and that there was more of it. I don’t think there is much of the latter seasons but regardless it is a must own.Also, come on Amazon! get the last three books on screen asap.

Nachdem uns die Serie bereits mitgerissen hatte, haben wir uns nun auch den Büchern und Comics der Reihe zugewendet. Vor allem ich bin begeistert von dem Einfallsreichtum der Shuttels gewesen und war froh, als sich dieser auch in diesem Artbook zeigte. Größenvergleiche, Detailaufnahmen vom Set aber auch Vorskizzen und Artworks finden auf den Seiten Platz.Dabei bleibt sich Titan Books seiner Qualität treu: der Einband ist solide und auber gearbeitet, die Bildung passt.Für Freunde der Serie oder einfach guter SiFi sehr zu empfehlen!

Huge fan of the Expanse and this Art and Making of book does not disappoint!

Fan de la première heure (je me souviens encore avoir téléchargé au hasard sur eztv le premier épisode en décembre 2015, et ma réaction au visionnage une quinzaine de jours plus tard, chez mes parents pendant les fêtes de Noël : soufflé littéralement, hanté par ces scènes en apesanteur, l'ambiance hard science fiction/drame/roman noir/mystère/pollitique ... Lors de la sortie e ce livre (pas les romans) j'étais bien décidé à l'acheter - et j'ai zappé l'occase ; du coup, je suis aux anges d'avoir finalement pu me le procurer. Yes !!! Un grand merci au vendeur qui a pris la peine de l'envoyer dans une pochette carton épaisse et de grand format, ce qui du coup fait que vous recevez le bouquin en parfait état : bah oui, impossible de le plier pour essayer de le faire rentrer dans votre bôite aux lettres : remis de la main à la main ... Suis tellement excité que je n'ai pas encore enlevé le cellophane ... faut savoir faire durer le plaisir, non?
