My new go to all in 1 HUB
Much smaller than expected! Perfect for traveling and work trips, this 8 in 1 USB C HUB is exactly what I needed and more.I actually used it to read my dashcam SD card on my Android S8 to review a clip and it worked flawlessly. Will be using this for additional storage and transfering of files to and from my phones and laptop on the fly. Not to mention the ability to snag files from practically any storage.Summary-Compact-Solid build quality-Joint reinforced thick USB-C cable-Tight connections on all ports (I plugged in appropriate media into every port and wiggled and pulled)-Versatile ports for Apple and Android users.

The Perfect Fix!
So I have a MacBook Air and as you know the ports and peripheral use out of the box is very limited. Well this VAVA 8 in1 is a game changer and an absolute need. I have tried a few different styles of USB C Hubs and I decided to keep this one cause it really does the job without getting overly hot!I particularly like that it still gives me the option to use my other ThunderBolt 3 slots when plugged in (basically doesn't have to take up the 2 ThunderBolt slots to power the device since it is tethered). Also I can charge with the hub since it gives me a spare USB C slot on the hub. It also includes HDMI (super cool and works 30FPS; sharp image), USB A slots, SD and Micro SD Card slots. Its a must have and highly recommend! That all being said, it is also very stylish, compact and light. Cant go wrong for the price either! Thank you Vava!**Update: been using this thing for almost 6 months and still works great!! 5 STARS!!

Great, compact USB-C Hub
I was looking for a reliable USB-C dongle that would work well with Mac, provide wired Ethernet, 3 USB-A ports, usb-c port, and Micro and standard sd card slots... all while utilizing only 1 of the Mac's available usb-c ports. This is the one!Pros:-Build quality is excellent. It's a nicely finished space grey aluminum body that mimic's the Mac's aesthetics remarkably. It really looks as if apple built it.-Transfer speeds are great. I've been using several removable media devices with this adapter, and they've all performed as expected. (Notably a 1tb SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD). It's transfer speeds when connected through this dongle are around 750 MB/S read and write consistently.-I like it's passthrough charging ability. Works perfectly every time.Cons:- Cons are virtually non existent. I've read several reviews about this adapter heating up, and I cannot verify that issue. Not that I haven't tried... I have transferred large 4k videos, edited directly off of two drives that were connected all while charging the MacBook and never noticed a drastic rise in temperature. Time will tell I'm sure, but as of now, it's doing fantastic. To conclude, I would absolutely purchase this again (and probably will). The packability, clean design and huge functionality make this a winner.

I didn't know my phone could do this!
When I learned that my Android phone (Galaxy S10e) could output to HDMI, I got really excited. Looking through Amazon, and reading all the reviews, I was amazed at the various Hubs and such, adding USB ports, Power, Ethernet, and more. I slowly narrowed my requirements till I was only looking for 5 or 6 features (a USB 2 Port for my mouse was a big one). I arrived at the VAVA 8 in 1 after a long study, and boy am I glad. I wont be using the SD slots any time soon, especially when I can plug in my 12TB external drive, but it's nice to know it's there. The Fast charger that came with my phone plugs right in to both power any USB devices, as well as charging my phone. I've tried the HDMI on 3 TVs with zero issue. That only leaves Ethernet, which will come up when I travel. I was all set to take pictures of the full setup: Phone, Hub, TV, Bluetooth folding Keyboard, Wireless Mouse, etc. Only to realize I would need to use my phone to take the pictures, so Hub alone it is. Top quality construction, and it just works!

Ethernet port works with Macbook Pro M1
I have 1GB Fios and just logged 805mbps with my ethernet cable connected to the port. Apple's decision to provide only 2 usb-c/thunderbolt 3 ports on the M1 is insufficient for me as I have many peripherals including an external monitor (and quite annoying for a $2k laptop). I needed a 2nd hub that can accommodate ethernet without degradation and, at least out of the box, I'm getting very positive results and am pleased. Note that it didn't work right when I plugged it in, but after restarting and switching the ports/unplugging and re-plugging etc. I was able to get it to work and haven't had issues. I'm also impressed with the build quality. It's very durable and thoughtfully designed and immediately obviously well made. Vava did an excellent job. If I have any issues that change my opinion I'll update this review.

Perfect for Chromecast with Google TV, work with original power adapter
I have looked around for a Chromecast with Google TV compatible USB-c hub to add external storage and stable network connection. From Youtube and Reddit, I found a few that work but may require a higher power adapter. From a review on this one, it seems to work just as well so I gave it a try. It turns out this one not only works for the purpose I need, it does not need a higher power adapter. I just plug in the USB power adapter that came with Chromecast and it runs stably for days already. The wired network is not as fast as my wifi due to the internal USB2.0 interface, but it still gives over 200Mbps throughput on the gigabit port. I am glad that I decided to try all the USB power adapter I have at home first before buying a 45W one as suggested by the Youtube video using the Anker hub. Now I can save the money.

Works ok with my M1 Macbook Air
It seems to work ok with my Macbook Air.Ethernet just great and fastUSB 2 ports work for devices like and external DVDSD card reader works for transferring pics from my DSLRHDMI, uhhh it works but seems to throw my MacBook into a weird resolution with very small icons and text. -Probably something I don't understand about that connectivity. Easier to just connect with Airplay for movies and -photos. Again, probably my not using it right.Overall it does 90% of what I expected and is very portable. Does get a little bit warm though.

This is what I've been waiting for!
So many USB C adapters/hubs use Display Link which is software driven. This means you need to mess around with their driver and the performance isn't great, nor is the hit on battery life/cpu usage. This adapter is perfect as the HDMI port uses USB C alt mode so you get the full performance of your GPU and 4K output works well. The pass through PD charging works well and is able to keep my macbook pro fully charged while under heavy load. This adapter means I can reduce all my cables down to a single one that is easy to plug in.

Works with Chromecast with Google TV
I got mine today with the intention of using with the Chromecast with Google TV to add storage, use ethernet etc.I couldn't get it working to start with but I found if I used the Chromecast wall plug and cable to the hub then the hubs usb-c cable to the Chromecast it worked! Not sure why, I was using a usb-c wall plug and cable but for some reason that didn't work.

Poor quality Ethernet connection.
We bought this specifically for the Ethernet port and it was poor quality. The socket is not manufactured properly and the male end of the cable is extremely loose. Connection is intermittent due to the sloppiness. Needs more stringent quality control.... if you’re in Canada make sure you get it here rather than from USA as return is a hassle.Gratefully Mass Design had no issues with return and got back to us almost immediately. Great company, poorly made product.

Works well
I bought this to replace an expensive Dell dock which sent my laptop into a near death coma instead of sleep. I wanted the version with audio, but the reviews were not as good as for this one.As my Dell laptop has a proprietary charger, I bought a knockoff apple 87w charger to use with this dock, and it all works well together. Haven't noticed any significant heat with the charger yet, but it is pretty much always on charge so far. I wouldn't be surprised if it heats up charging from flat.DisplayLink and LAN drivers not required.Have had occasional issues waking from sleep, but that is always a problem with docks in my long experience. Sometimes the LAN port is not recognised and the screen can play up, but replugging the dock fixes it.Plugging USB HDD can affect keyboard/mouse at times. Might be a power sharing thingSupport seems good although no reason to test it yet.Bottom line: Glad I returned the Dell dock. Recommended

Excellent product at an excellent price.
Happy with the purchase. Never faced any issues. Prompt speed while transferring file onto iPad. Used to play videos on UHD smart tv through the HDMI port and never had any issues. Never tried the power function though. I tried using a female USB c to male lightening adapter to use it with iPhone 11 Pro Max to see videos on the big HDMI tv screen but for some reason that doesn’t works. I also tried it with power added still didn’t work. I suppose it doesn’t support for iPhone yet. Otherwise excellent to use with the iPad for normal usage.
