Complete Works for the Piano, Book 3: Polonaises (Schirmer's Library of Musical Classics, Vol. 29)

I finally broke down and bought a new Polonaise book to replace my 50 year plus book. I had scotched taped it over the years and the tape turned yellow, it was just time to have fresh white pages on my old eyes because the paper had also turned color. What can I say about an old classic that never goes out of style. The only thing different was the price! I paid $1.50 in 1963.

What's not to love about these great pieces that are fun to play, and sound great to any audience that you might wish to play for. Easy to read, as usual for the Schirmers editions. Separating the Polonaises as a single group is convenient for me. The comprehensive collections that include just a few of these among the many other categories, is OK for some, but I really like this.

I bought this for one of the polonaises. The book is printed well and is inexpensive but doesn't sit flat at all. I don't know how anyone would use this on a piano. I made a copy of the one I wanted and put it in a binder that sits flat. If I was going to play works from this edition I would take it somewhere and have the binding replaced with something that lies flat.

What's to say.? The color hasn't changed in 50+ years. The music hasn't changed since it was written.

Poor quality glue binding rendered the book useless. As soon as I opened it the binding immediately began to split and the pages loosened. Amazon refunded me my costs but such a sad waste of resources.

Great edition of majestic pieces by the master of piano composers. Great value for all Chopin enthusiasts of the polonaise.

Tres bon article. Il manque tout de meme une table des matieres, et des precisions sur les titres ( titrage complet comme les publications audiogr).
