Excellent book of hope and inspiration for everyone, not just caregivers.
As the grief of age and death has crept up on me and family members in the past few years, I knew I needed some help not only understanding the caregiver, but also understanding those we are caring for. This is an excellent and easy to read book that targets those topics. I like that it has quotes from scripture, philosophers, and regular people that are inspirational. I do a lot of highlighting. I ordered 4 books; 1 for me and the other 3 for family members who are in the position of caregiver. This book has helped me with being a better caregiver with my dog who has dementia and other physical ailments that continue to diminish. However, for me, the quotes throughout the book have been the most helpful. This should be in the library of every person who has ever had to be a caregiver, one who currently is a caregiver, and those who anticipate what may or may not come in the future.

Real hope, God's grace.
Peter Rosenberger's experience and journey will lift and encourage the soul and will of any caregiver. The hope he offers is real and hard-earned in his own arduous journey. He speaks with uncommon transparency and humble compassion for all of us who walk the caregiving path. His humor and concise delivery make this soothing resource attainable for even the most taxed caregiver. A refined and immovable faith, cultivated in Peter and Gracie by the dark suffering God ordained for them, demonstrates the glory that God calls unto Himself and the supernatural goodness He lavishes upon His surrendered followers. Thank you, Peter and Gracie, for opening your world and sharing with us the grace that we need and need to give to those we care for.

Balanced support for caregivers
Some of the concepts are basic, but the quotes included are fun and the way the self care concepts are communicated are good and healthy reminders for the caregiver. A "Christian" book made me nervous even though I am a believer. Many other books talk down to caregivers, over spiritualize the reality, shame, or guilt the believer into a performance madness. You won't find that here. Good solid common sense and compassion with practical ways to live out your faith in the process...both for your own self care and for the love of the cared for. Normalizes the emotions of care giving... Bought 3 to pass on to friends and family.

A Must for a Caregiver - a wonderful gift item for Christmas
I know Peter and his wife personally and know of no one who knows more about care giving than him after taking care of his wife for over 20 years. He is an incredible person - he's funny, he's warm, he's talented, he's the complete package and now he is a successful author with a book that is a must have for anyone who is caring for someone. He touches your heart with his compassion and it is truly a great book to give as a gift to anyone who is taking care of a loved one or a caretaker that you know is taking care of someone you know.

This book is definitely a KEEPER. Rosenberger covers every subject a caregiver faces and covers it thoroughly with answers/advice/ even humor. Gives the reader a foundation to build on a become "caring" caregiver. Relying heavily on the Bible, ancient and current philosophers and the "Delta Doctrine" (put your own mask on first) to validate and accent his views on multiple subjects. I loved this book and it has a permanent place of honor on my book shelf.

Hope for the Caregiver is a beautifully written book and guide for caregivers
Hope for the Caregiver is a beautifully written book and guide for caregivers, those most susceptible of feeling hopeless and discouraged. Using his own life experiences as a caregiver for his beautiful wife Gracie for over 25 years, Peter Rosenberger provides the reader with practical tools for strengthening the spirit, even in the midst of the most dismal and bleak days. This book is extremely easy to read and is full of important advice for those caregivers who need to learn to also care for themselves. I highly recommend this book!

Wise words from a life that has been there. Hope through every page for not only the caregiver, but all who give care to others. I highly recommend to all who minister to those in need and to those on the front lines of day to day caring for those they love. My only regret is that I should have bought more copies. Many come to mind who can benefit from this wonderful resource.

"Encouraging", Yes!
"Encouraging" is the word, for this book, to hear from someone who has articulated the feelings that so many of us have or are beginning to experience in being put in the position of ministering to the needs of a loved one. Not so much a 'how-to' book, although there are some helpful items that way, but a positive "hang in there' message, 'you can handle it'. Over and over, I felt "thanks, I needed that".
