Good product and even better price
Great deal for the price. I use them for bag work and you can definitely feel the impact but it doesn't hurt or cause bruising. Made from soft and comfortable material. Can get a little warm if worn for a long period of time (45 mins+) but that is to be expected if you are getting a good work out :)I have been using them for a month and no wear and tear. They are machine washable and that helps in keeping them clean. The fit is good and it doesn't slide off but there is little sideways movement as I kick the bag. I have to readjust the Guards about every 15 minutes but that has more to do with my kicking style and not a knock on the shin guards.Quite satisfied with the purchase

Great product, perfect for martial arts.
I do Krav Maga, and the kicks and mats were doing a number on my shins and on the tops of my feet. I finally got sick of having scabs and got these. Very comfortable. I am 5'6", female, 130-135 lbs, and I got the mediums which fit me perfectly. For reference, I wear an 8.5 running shoe (US) and my calves are 14" around at the widest point. These are lightweight and really comfortable. Just enough padding to be protective without being obtrusive. I've been contemplating wearing them even for the ground survival classes, not just the combative classes, sine they wouldn't add that much size to my legs and would protect the tops of my feet from the mat.Very happy with these, and I expect them to last me for quite a while. Would recommend.

Good for light to medium contact sparring
Good product. Used for karate sparring practice, and these always protected me adequately. Lightweight, comfortable, well-fitting, and the encasing fabric never tore or damaged, despite LOTS of abuse.Only two issues with this product:1) You need to wash them every or every other training session, as they stink up from sweat fairly quickly. Not as bad as some other gear, but enough to wear I stopped keeping them in my gym bag for long periods of time without washing.2) I am not sure if this was unique to the pair I had, or if all have this problem, but the way the sewing is closed up leaves a sort of bunched up ball of the black fabric on the bottom part (the plantar surface) of the foot, such that it sometimes feels like you're stepping on something. Not bad at first, but after a long session of sparring, its like a "rock in your shoe" type of feeling. I fixed this by cutting out (literally) the bunched up part and gluing the ends together with super glue. It hasn't compromised the pads in any way.Ultimately, I am happy with my purchase, and would recommend these for light to medium contact sparring, as well as general shin protection in other activities.

Awesome shin pads for all combat sports that require shin ...
Awesome shin pads for all combat sports that require shin pads during training. I train 6days a week and these bad boys always get the job done. Great fit, great price, extremely comfy, great for mma amd what I like the most is there light and don't move like most shin guards.Definitely a dope product. Especially if you insist on protecting your shins and being able to train without having to stop to adjust your shin guards every ten seconds like I do. Check it out and check me out @oldmanvancleave for future updates on all worthy products I've tried in the fitness world.

Won't protect you from everything
I got these for a costume purpose so I can't speak to the sports aspect of this particular brand. So for my purpose, my rating is 5.From a sport perspective, I'd give this a 2. I used to use these kinds of shin guards during my 7 years of Martial Arts doing full contact sparring. If that's what you're intending, I would recommend against these and going with the elastic strap versions. (like these: http://www.amazon.com/Macho-Dyna-Shin-Forearm-Guard/dp/B006G1P5PM/ref=pd_sim_sg_5)For one, these are going to stretch. The more you use it the wider the mouths are going to be and thus will move around your leg. It's like an overstretched sock. I'd had one move on me and kicking someone shin for shin when it moved on you...not a pleasant experience. Also, for most of us, we're told to not 'jump' around but to slide easily by shifting your weight across the floor. Makes you quicker. Also means the portion of the fabric right under your foot gets worn really really fast. I've had holes in mine that I had to patch with athletic tape. Actually, I ended up using athletic tape to even hold the shin pad in place when the mouth got stretched. So in general, I basically made my own straps. That being said, if you go the elastic strapped versions, know that you're going to be replacing those just as often. Their coating will crack and yes, you will have more than a few moments where the straps come loose in the middle of a match. But refs will spot that dangling strap and stop the match for you to get everything redone. Same can't be said for a loose mouth pull over that slid over on you. The Ref will have no idea. Also, the strap under your foot is going to suffer the same as this product.Pros and Cons. Weigh them. That is just my personal experience.

Great for the price. Great product.
I purchased these kick pads expecting the worst. They arrived promptly and to my surprise they are a great looking and feeling set of pads. I'm an independent pro wrestler / referee and these are awesome for what I need them for. My kids are into MMA and they enjoy these for sparring and kicking around, pun intended. I would recommend this set of kick pads. I'll update this as i use them. And for those wondering they are a size large and yes you can wear them over sneakers. Just put the pads on the sneaker first.

I took a solid shot to the upper shin and now I've got a nice lower leg hematoma
Got these because I needed something cheaply/quickly for an MMA class I just started. They worked well for me until I started doing more sparing with people who don't really understand what "He's the New Guy" means. I took a solid shot to the upper shin and now I've got a nice lower leg hematoma.I've seen some of the more experienced fighters use these as additional padding under their higher quality pads, which is how I'll probably start using them.Overall they do fit well and offer some basic level of protection, but once people start using 50% or more of their speed and power they just are not going to give you the impact protection your going to need.
