Oajencaster socket furniture insert for 5/16" - 18 thread, use with 1" OD square tube, 4-pack

I recently got a used desk that had floor glides rather than wheels which I would prefer. Two of the glides would not unscrew all the way and one of the inserts that holds them in place broke. So, I decided to buy new inserts which would also help in making sure the threaded hole was the right size for the wheels I would be getting (I bought the same brand of wheels),These do not pop in easily but, then again you would not want them to go in too easily as that would make things less sturdy over time.The wider section at the bottom was actually slightly larger than the inside of the square tubing that make up the legs of my desk. So, I used a 5-pound sledge hammer to tap them down into place.This sheared off the excess material giving a good snug fit (I was able to scrape the plastic from around the edge that had been sheared from the insert during installation).This product was EXACTLY what I needed and is probably more stable than the original threaded inserts,If you have a piece of furniture with square legs and need a threaded insert to hold glides or casters I would highly recommend these!

The threads or nut built into one of the caps started to turn and I could not get the caster to screw in all the way. Tried 4 casters on the grill, but did not work very good. Thus I went to two casters and pick up one end to move on casters. Therefore with the one bad cap, I was OK and have 1 extra.

There's not really a 'lot' of competition in this arena (That 'I' found anyway), but that doesn't stop these from being awesome in every way. They fit in the 1" Square holes (You have to Hammer them in, but that's by design), and the threads worked for the wheels that had been pulled off before. If you know you need these, you won't be disappointed. ;P

We bought used gondolas for our showroom and some were missing casters. These tapped in with a mallet and are very sturdy.
