I rarely use hot press paper, but I needed it for a special project I was working on. This paper is a great size and quality and the price is really good.

I started out using cellulose paper for watercolour painting, but have constantly read that cotton paper is the best paper for for this medium. I bought some Arches, which is the holy grail of cotton papers and it is really good, but pricey. Then I started hearing about this brand (Baohong Academy, which is apparently now Meeden) and decided to try it since it's more economically priced. I was incredibly impressed with the quality of the paper and how the watercolour paint works on it - blending and wet-on-wet techniques are a pleasure on this paper. I will continue to buy this paper.

For the price, I’ll stick with artist grade paper. I use it like I do my sketchbooks, for working out tricky bits in my paintings. But when it’s time to do a painting, I put this block away.
