Not the same as previous models
I love Asolo shoes and this design in particular. However, I have the previous model that is full leather. This new model has canvas at the top front. It's difficult to see this difference in the photos, which is why I'm leaving a review. The previous model feels much better when worn and feels sturdier in general. That said, I still think this shoe is well made. I just didn't personally like it compared with my older version. It was still labelled Made in Romania, so I'm confident in the build quality. Asolo has apparently begun making their shoes in Asia, but this one is still European. The fit of this shoe is comfortable for me, and I have slightly wide feet. In another style of Asolo hiking boot I wear 11 Wide, but this one felt comfortable in a regular 11. I didn't, however, wear it very long, so extended use may have yielded different results. Ultimately, I returned this item, but I would still recommend it. It was just a surprise when I received it and the build was not exactly the same as previous years.

Nice boot, fitting between a lite hiker and heavier hiking boot
The last couple of years have shown and explosion of new offerings in the hiking space so now there are "hikers" that range from beefed up running shoes to traditional leather hiking boots. I was looking for a boot that was more durable than the newer, liter boots with more elastomer based foot beds but are lighter than a full on leather or cordura constructions. The Falcon is a hybrid of split grain leather with a synthetic upper with a more traditional solid sole. I hike about 20 miles a week (for about 5 months) and just finished a 100 mile through hike in them and found them to hold up well to wear and tear. I was worried about the material around the top of the boot, but this did really well. The boots don't cushion as much as other boots, so I would size with a heavier sock in mind. The boot is great for hiking on rough trails and lite backpacking, but isn't supportive enough for mountaineering I bought this for $170, so at $220 I would look at other options.

I like these boots, except one small thing.
I used to wear the "Triumph GV" boots a few years ago. I was frustrated at how companies (everywhere) tend to discontinue a product when I like it. I contacted the customer service over on the Asolo website, and these boots (Falcon GV) are so similar to the Triumph GV boots, so I gave them a try. I am 6'2", about 177-180 lbs. (depends on time of day) and my long medium width feet fit perfect in these. I wear them mostly around the home during the cold front that's currently hitting Florida, but I do plan on going in the woods in the future. Asolo, do not discontinue these boots!!! The only one issue I have is that the openings for the boot laces to be fed through are so narrow, it's as if they only want you to use their laces, or very thin narrow tipped laces. It'd be nice to allow a wider opening for laces of thicker width to fit through.

Comfort from first day
Great fit and soft like a slipper. No break in period and no hot spots. Sole works well in snow and wet surfaces. Have used for city walking and trail walks. Very comfortable. Prefer a heavier boot for hiking in mountains but I bought this boot for trails and a lighter weight boot. Excellent quality and value

Asolo Falcon GV, size 10.5, great for narrow feet
I was looking for a light-weight boot for city and park walking and this model of Asolo is perfect. It is super comfortable and I can tell there will be no break-in time. Decades ago I purchased a heavy-duty Asolo hiking boot which I still have for mountain hiking. These are size 10.5 and I was hoping that this boot would still be true to size. Luckily, the length was not skimped on which isn't unusual in some shoes sold today. Highly recommend. I love the laces and hope I can fine a similar pair as a backup on Amazon. The text on the box is French and English, but nowhere can you find where the boot was made.

Comfortable, durable, give full movement
Had these for about a month and for great from the start and feel great!I wear these 8-15 hours a day doing lawn care. They breath well without letting any dust in at all. Absolutely amazing boot!Extremely light weight and comfortable. They allow you to stay on your toes more for running, quick movement and better control.Durability seems good so far. I have gone through asolo Fugitive Gore-Tex boots with my job in 8-9 months sometimes a year. Normal wear the Fugitive Gore-Tex would last 3-5 years. (Before I started lawn care full time)We will see how they do but so far I am extremely happy with these!
