4 Film Favorites: Post-Apocalypse (I Am Legend, Logan's Run, Dark City Director's Cut, The Omega Man)

I remember The Omega Man and Logan's Run on their first run. It brought back many memories. I am Legend is a remake of The Omega Man (a turn on The Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price) had a much bigger budget and much more grittier.

GREAT multi-film pac

While 3 of these movies can certainly be called "post-apocalyptic", I'm not so sure about "Dark City." I had never seen it before or even heard of it. It's a noir style sci-fi movie, but I don't even think it takes place on Earth, unless I misunderstood what was happening. It's unclear, at the very least. It isn't terrible, but it also isn't great. In fact, it almost seems like the inspiration for The Matrix, which was released 13 months later. I wonder how much of an influence this movie had on the Matrix; there are so many broad similarities. "Omega Man" and "I Am Legend" are based on the same story but filmed differently. "Logan's Run" is an absurd sci-fi classic. Worth the price.

I enjoyed all of these well made post apocalyptic films. All are unique in their own way.

Great combo for great price

Buyer beware! If you prefer the letterbox version of movies and care if Logan's Run is letterbox or panscan - don't purchase this version. While Omega Man and I am Legend are both letter box, Logan's Run is panscan, which means I will be repurchasing it.... You can get a bluray of Omega Man and I Am Legend for $9 at the time of this writing. I have not watched Dark City (had never heard of it before) and had purchased this disk for the other three movies. I would have been better off purchasing the bluray combo and the Logan's Run DVD for $5 which I am now going to have to purchase to replace the panscan version included in this set.

I love all 4 of these classics... seen them all many times before, starting with 'Omega Man' & 'Logan's Run' in the Los Cerritos Mall theatres, loved 'I Am Legend' on DVD, and found 'Dark City' in a 7-11 DVD rack a few years back, and picked it up because of the box graphics...Best decision I could've made!

I had forgotten about "Dark City", what a strange movie, I had seen it once before, not sure why this one slipped from my mind, the writing was good, production value is great, not a typical Hollywood movie at all. "I am Legend" and "Omega man" are two great sci thrillers. "Logan's Run" definitely one of the best sci-fi movies from it's era, have to buy this again in widescreen, this version you are visually missing more that half of the movie. Still a worth while purchase for four movies.

I bought it for Omega Man but I Am Legend, Dark City and Logan's Run are all excellent!
