If you are just starting to sell books, this should be your first (small) investment.
A must-have reference guide for anyone with limited time but a strong desire to earn extra cash having fun. Covers all the basics with some excellent insider tips BUT a very realistic take on how to make it work for you if you can't commit all of your time and energy to selling. This book takes the intimidation factor out of competing with huge online sellers, but will help you tremendously if you wish to go that route as well. I recommend this to anyone starting out, but probably not to someone who has been at it awhile and is using other more in-depth books already. I refer to this book almost on a daily basis. As a beginner, you will appreciate and come to rely on this book to cut out the details that may overwhelm a newbie, and cut to the chase in regards to how and where to buy books (or cds, vhs tapes, and dvds), how to list them, and how to keep your customers happy. All without breaking the bank or your back. The author also offers customizable form letters that are appropriate when you need to communicate with your customers. These have been invaluable to me, as this venue requires a new form of etiquette that can be a science in and of itself. She recommends reading everything you can get your hands on re selling on amazon, and I have started doing that as well, but I still refer back to this title.Thank you, Christine, for the life-changing book!

Great Information and Entertaining Read
I really enjoyed this book. The author was really detailed and even though the technology she mentions is a couple of years old it is still valuable to note.I highly recommend this book. My only suggestion is fix the format as it runs together in many places.Worth the money for sure!

Book is just OK
I ordered the book and it came very quickly, and was in new condition as promised. Reading the book was somewhat difficult because it is a do it yourself type of book that is intended to help people who want to sell books on Amazon. I was hoping for more information on selling books on-line and possibly a comparison of other websites that you can sell books on besides Amazon, just for the comparison. I did not find the book to be interesting to read, but rather more like a textbook. I don't blame the book's author, totally, because she has written a book precisely about what the title says.... I just didn't get out of the book what I was hoping to. I wish she had used more actual examples of some of the books she talked about. I may pursue it further in the future when I am ready to start "selling" books on line, if I do. If anything this book has discouraged me from trying to sell books on Amazon. I felt it was a waste of my money.

The Essential Guide
How to Sell Books on Amazon isn't just a how-to manual for fledgling bookmen (the title notwithstanding), it is the ultimate how-to book for anyone who aspires to write a how-to book.If only every author would put as much thought, care and concern into their material. Christine Miller knows how to mind meld with her audience. She lays out her program with an upbeat style that's like a visit with her to the local Barnes & Noble café, where you talk the book business on a coffee jag, the ideas "exploding like spiders across the stars," as Jack Kerouac said.As Ms. Miller suggests, it's a good idea to read other bookselling guides. "No one bookseller knows everything there is to know," she says. Only by reading other guides will you appreciate just how far this book surpasses them. When you finish this book, not only will you be armed with the information you need, you will be charged up, ready to hunt for treasure at your local Goodwill "superstore" or garage sale. The book is organized into sections labeled "Motivation, Preparation, Education, Inspiration, Perspiration, Innovation, and Dedication." She elaborates on these themes with clear, concise advice that proves these aren't just fancy chapter headings. They are cleverly-conceived elements of a grand strategy for winning hard-earned freedom in the world of ecommerce. The high points are too numerous to list. Among them are: Lists of books Ms. Miller has sold, with the selling price; an explanation of the Amazon sales rank and how it applies to your business; inventory management, and profiles of other successful Amazon booksellers. Ms. Miller describes her strategy of selling high-dollar, slow-selling books. She offers the alternative strategy of dealing in low-profit, fast selling books. She gives pointers to help you create your own business model. It's hard to overstate the importance of this book for anyone who might want to start a career as an online bookseller. You have to have How to Sell Books on Amazon.
