One of the most thoughtful books I've read
Dr. Leslie is more than just an ER dic telling amusing or unusual stories. Every story has a point and a moral underpinning or a life lesson he learned. He is humble and deeply concerned for those who have nothing. He i clues a lot of quotes from great philosophers as well as Biblical scripture to open a chapter, then the chapter illustrates that concept.I was horrified to learn that, even as I was thoroughly enjoying this book andbthe light that this man has to offer the world, he was senseless gunned down, along with his wife and other family members, by an evil creature for no reason at all. What a huge loss to the world. When you read his books, you'll be so glad that there are such empathetic and thinking and humble people who just want to serve others. Then to have to know that such a light in this world was slaughtered in his own home by a madman is too much to bear.I will read everything he wrote. He left us a legacy of wisdom and love, and we can try to be like him.

Angels in the ER is misleading title for this book. At least in my opinion.
I thought this would tell of miracles that had taken place in the ER. But it was stories about patients the doctor had in the ER. I didn't dislike the book, but I have read many that I have enjoyed much more. Angels in the. ER is a rather misleading title, as far as I'm concerned. But please don't let me stop you from reading it, you might really enjoy it.

As an eyewitness of emergencies, his tells stories of wounded people and the people who love them.
After the tragic murder or Dr. Robert Lesslie's family, I wanted to learn more about his legacy of faith. Reading Angels in the ER: Inspiring True Stories From an Emergency Room Doctor by Dr. Robert Lesslie was a moving experience! Quickly I discovered, this is not a theology book. The storyline is devotional and autobiography. His writing will capture the heart of any reader.Sharing his personal observations from the Emergency Room, Dr. Lesslie studies people and personalities. His world is examined through a scientific mind and a strong faith in God. As an eyewitness of emergencies, his tells stories of wounded people and the people who love them.Another observation from reading this book is one of transformation. The author shares his immaturity of skill and then pivots to a maturity in ER experiences.Without spoiling the book, I will affirm Dr. Lesslie left behind some nuggets about drug addiction and crime. Anyone who reads crime stories will absolutely LOVE these nuggets. If you are looking for insight on his views about Heaven- you'll find it here.As a devotional writer, Dr. Robert Lesslie has a calming voice of authority. His emotional, physical, and spiritual strength appear over and over again in his stories. The word resilient often comes to mind. As a reader, you find yourself looking over his shoulder and seeing what the doctor sees. The perspective is quite interesting from the other view of the ER bed!I am most thankful Dr. Lesslie has left behind his living words. Once you read the book too, you will see a strong man of God and a legacy of faith!

Angels in the ER is a first hand actual observations of the Dr. turned author, Robert Lesslie. Each chapter contains the highlights of a visit to the ER of different people and the interactions and reactions of the staff of Rocky Hill ER. we seen through Dr. Leslie eyes. Each chapter begins and ends with a relatable quotation. Many are from the Bible.I would strongly recommend that everyone entering or in the medical profession read this book.. You don't want to get so busy or greedy that you loose the caring inner being that first came into the profession. Appreciate the people who make up the team from the EMT that makes that first contact to every trained personnel within the facility.

... in angels so I knew I was going to like this book
I believe in angels so I knew I was going to like this book. I have read other books by Dr. Lesslie and knew he was a good writer. There are two things I don't understand. One is a newborn baby. It's always a miracle. the second thing I don't understand is death. There are times the ER deals with death, but most of the time they can patch patients enough to be sent home or to a specialist. My wife is a retired CAT Scan technician. She started out as an X-Ray technician, and at one point wanted a different pace of work. She worked as a technician for the ambulance service. So our family has some experience with the medical field, and Angels in the ER is true to life. Prayers do make a difference. Get the book and read it. If you end up in the ER, it will give you confidence that you are well taken care of by a person that spent almost thirty years in school getting prepared for their profession. And Now He Has Gone Home
Having spent quite a bit of time in the ERs over the past few years, I picked up this book because I do believe Angels are real. Like he says, sometimes they are every day people..sometimes you feel them. These stories of real life people and real life issues grab the heart. He writes with humility and honors both Patients and Medical staff.Just discovered this amazing Dr. and truly wonderful book... and I am shocked and deeply saddened that he and his wife and two grand children were killed two months ago. Making the theme of his work even more true.

HOW ER DOCTORS DO THEIR JOB - TRUE STORIES - GOOD READING
Nearly everyone has been or will be taken to the emergency room at some point in their lives. I've been there several times and reading this book is quite an education in what really is going on outside the curtains! If I ever have to go there again I will have more patience, more respect, and more knowledge of whatever my problem is. Thankfully, most ER doctors and nurses are determined to save lives - they also need cooperation from their patients! Enjoy the book and learn some important things.

My daughter in law's sister has just begun to work in an ER so this book gave me insight into her occupation. This doctor is a dedicated Christian just like me. I started crying more than once at the Lord's intervention in his patients ' lives. God is faithful and merciful in all of our lives today.
