Simtec Fun Slides Carpet Skates - Silver

My son wanted these really bad and I could not see paying for plastic so he could slide across the living room but he used his allowance and purchased them. I cannot believe how great they are. When his friends come over the all want to use them. Also when my son buys something he plays with it for a bit and then to the closet it goes, but these he uses all the time. I wouldnt recommend kids using them when there parents arent home because they are very slippery. but they are alot of fun.

Bought these for an in-office "Winter Olympics" event. We had grown adults running around the carpeted floor, sliding around in events. For example, The Luge: one associate sits in a rolling chair while another, with the skates on, tries to push the chair down a straight hallway. Very hilarious to watch since the skates afford very little push initially. Looks like someone is running in place until they finally get moving.These would probably be real good for kids if you have plenty of carpet. If they are safe kiddos, they will have lots of fun.

I got them to help with PT exercises after knee surgery, per my physical therapists request. They work great, they were a good price, and they were easy to put together.

Very fun pair of slides for shelter in place. I used them as a make shift treadmill to walk in place by tilting a piece of smooth wooden board. Much cheaper than getting a treadmill and the wooden board is much space-saving.

I am very glad I opened these before giving them to my son in order to decide whether to buy two pairs and give the other to my daughter. The first thing to know is that despite the blurb on the box starting with "simply strap on," you have to (1) stick the foam foot pad onto the plastic base (not hard) and (2) figure out how to stick on the straps before these are usable. Sticking on the straps is not a huge challenge, but it is not something a child or tween could figure out either. The trick is there are various velcro loops. The small tabs of velcro are to be opened up and connected through the small plastic slits on the skate. Then the main velcro fits over the foot. Once I figured that out, these did not slide on my Berber-style carpet. I will still give them to my son due to the other reviews that they are fun for the snow, just in case, but will not buy another pair. They are not going to look like a very nice present because I had to completely disassemble the box to read the instructions, which are printed inside the box rather than on a separate piece of paper. With the straps attached, they do not fit back into the box. So I do not recommend these as a present.

They work. Not great but the kids enjoy them. Not worth $20 but you live you learn. You need a big space to use them as well.

My son received a pair of these as a gift for Christmas a year or two ago. They were such a hit that my daughter had to have some of her own to play with him. They love to slide around the carpet and play all sorts of games they make up. The skates slide around on carpet very nicely. The only problem we have had is that my son's skates are starting to crack. If they crack so badly that they are unusable, we will have to buy another pair. They have so much fun with the skates that it would be worth it to replace them.

These carpet skates are the BEST! My husband and I bought them for ourselves and for my brother and his wife for Christmas, and they have been so much fun! We love them, my nieces and nephews love them, and they are suprisingly durable. None have broken, and we've definitely pushed them to the limits. They are really slick and a lot of fun both on carpet and on tile/laminate, which is almost impossible to stay standing up on. We love these things!!!
