Adjustable Stool in Industrial Finish

Overall, I'm happy with these stools. However, I want to point out a couple of things that were not quite as I expected:1) In the picture they appear to be a dark gray / black color. In reality, they are a very dark weathered copper color...definitely some slight brown / reddish hints in there. But I disagree with the review that said the finish looks cheap - to me, it is very attractive.2) One of the other reviews stated (correctly) that if you swivel the seat, you don't have the footrest since it is fixed. In reality, these stools are not really designed to swivel - note that the word "swivel" is no where in the description. The horizontal lever beneath the seat is attached to a locknut. The intent is that you screw the seat up or down to the desired height, center it facing forward over the footpeg, then tighten the locknut. If you leave the locknut loose, the seat will swivel, but it will also rock slightly from side to side. So, your choice is either a fixed position seat or a slightly wobbly one.3) The one negative I found, and this is a big one for me, is that the legs of the stool have no pads or glides under them. You have cast iron directly contacting your floor. If you have wood or laminate, I think it will get scratched over time as the stools get moved around. I bought some self-adhesive felt pads from Lowes and put them under the feet. I'm not optimistic that they will stay adhered though - the bottom of each foot is not really flat. Hopefully I will come up with a better solution and will update this when I do :-)

A very nice product so far as I only had them for less than a month. Very easy to put together and seem to be pretty sturdy metal. Have only been used several times but have had no issues or concerns at all at this time. I may update this review at a later time once the family has the chance to really use them (ie. grand children). Now that the items have been here for a short time I wish I had boughten these stools in red instead of the industrial color. Don't get me wrong the brown color looks very nice especially with the barnwood look floors, black island and a dream bordoux granite contertop but the red could look even better only because I already have some deep reds working in the kitchen. Who knows I just may end up spraying them red, we'll see.I was impressed with how quickly I received these 2 stools. And once they arrived I noticed the packing was excellent. It's always a plus when all the parts r accounted for and nothing has broke. I would highly recommend these beautiful stools especially if you're looking for something so cute and have that "farm look" to them.

I saw a similar stool at Thomasville furniture that was $600+. While this stool is not the same caliber as that one, it certainly is a fantastic piece of furniture for the price. Some posters have said that the color is more copper or bronze, rather than the way it looks in the picture. My stool looks the same color as a cast iron skillet that hasn't been fully seasoned.Here's what you should know about the quality of the piece. The seat is cast iron as is the base, the foot rest and the lugnut just under the seat. The pole attaching the seat to the base is some other kind of metal. So the stool is mostly cast iron, but not entirely. The seat can be used comfortably at counter height or bar height without wobbling. The seat is adjustable but not meant to swivel.I am happy with this product and intend to order another so I can have a pair.

After 3 months still holding up well. I recommend using actual tools to put them together instead of the provided kit tools. The nuts require a bit of torque to keep them from coming loose. Also I felt like I was falling forward when I sit in them. This was easily fixed by adding fender washers under the front holes of the seat to make the seat position feel more natural.

was expecting them to be a bit more cast iron looking, its a paint job instead. But besides that I cant complain they are cute, I get complimented on them all the time and they are very comfy. we have ours out 3/4 of the way up and they are a bit wobbly when larger folks sit on them but for me and the kids they are sturdy. we don't use them too often but when we do they fit the ticket! I would recommend and the price was right!

Great quality and finish. However, you should have long legs if you plan to use this without the footrest: I am 5'9", and even at its lowest height, my feet don't rest on the floor without pulling me forward on the seat. Unfortunately, I sit in the stool a lot, and using the footrest keeps me cramped in the fetal position the whole time. Also, bring some extra tools for assembly: I put it together with the included pieces and a screwdriver, and the screws require constant retightening or the stool becomes very loose. The feet are not sharp, per se, but if you'll be using it on a firm surface, I highly recommend some protective sleeves, as over time the feet will mark wood or develop jagged edges on stone/concrete.

Very sturdy quality stools that can be used on counter height bars or higher since they adjust higher. We have a counter high outdoor kitchen we are using these for. Seat is nice size and comfortable, they swivel as well. I would say the only thing that could be better, would be the foot peg. When you swivel your seat around, you have no where to put your feel since there is only a foot peg on one side which does not move. Love these stools though.

Love this stool. Very well made and was just what I wanted to fit into a newly remodeled room with a vintage industrial theme. Hard seat took a bit of getting used to since I previously had a cushioned chair but I adapted quickly and it is adequately comfortable. Height adjustment andability to swivel around are great. Would recommend to anyone.
