Amazon EssentialsSlim-Fit Dress Shirts for Men - Long-Sleeve, Pocket, Button-Down Oxford Shirt

Good concept, details need some work.
Let's start with the positives. The quality of the cloth is great, it's a heavier cotton, but feels soft and durable. The overall slim fit cut was great too. The shoulders were a tiny bit too boxy for me personally, but I didn't wash it to see if the shirt would shrink and solve that issue. The problem with this shirt is that it doesn't get the details right. It's almost like they just took a regular shirt and decided to produce it in a slim fit instead, without tweaking anything else. It's slightly too long to be left untucked, and for a cloth this heavy, it's not really something that you would really want to wear tucked in. I also find it weird that a slim fit shirt would have a box pleat on the back, since the whole point of a slim fit shirt is for a cleaner look on a trimmer guy. Finally, I like the button-down collar, but would consider hiding the buttons on the back of the collar so that you get a cleaner look. Unfortunately, these misses on the details make this shirt seem outdated. Other than the slim cut, it reminds me of something you might see from the 1990s, along with double pleated chinos.Overall, doesn't seem like a good match for a younger, more stylish demographic that might want to wear a slim fit cut. Despite the great price, I'm definitely returning this one.

Buttons...don't pull the thread.
I really like these shirts. I bought 3 in various colors. The fabric is heavier than regular dress-shirt fabric. It's 100% cotton (I call it broadcloth but that may be a misnomer.) I wear them casually with jeans or khaki slacks. They would be fine worn open-collar with a sport jacket, but probably not with a business suit. The heavier cotton material makes them good for Indiana's cool fall, winter, and springs temperatures, but too warm for the hot and humid summers. I'm 5'10" and 165 pounds. The slim fit is fine for my frame, but if you have a "generous" waistline I would suggest not getting the slim fit. These shirts require ironing after washing. (I air-dried them so I don't know if they would shrink in a heated dryer.) They do well on the hot iron setting for cotton. One annoying thing: Dangling strings are tempting to pull, and I have had to sew back on a few buttons. Overall these are nice shirts to have in your wardrobe.

Good fitting, good quality, some flaws
I like the fit and quality of these shirts relative to the price. Obviously not high end but a step up from Target. Material is not the same as the Oxford shirts of the “Goodthreads” brand, not as thick but still good quality. I am a size 32 waist and the size chart suggests I should get a Medium, but I sized down. It was the right choice, as the Small is not too tight, but more tailored and not baggy. A medium would be too baggy for a slim shirt. Some of the buttons had extra thread hanging, so quality control may be spotty. Nothing you couldn’t fix on your own however. Nice to wear untucked as well with jeans.

Amazon Essentials Mens shirt review - Good shirt, great value.
First, this is Oxford. This is a tough fabric that looks a little like pinpoint and feels a little like flannel. That is, it does not have the sheen of a dress shirt and is not as thick and soft as flannel. It hits a nice spot in between. The fabric is soft enough and thick enough to wear casually in the heat of summer. (It is cooler than a very thin and very cheap shirt due to it's absorbancy.) The fabric appears and feels to be quality. The cut is good for me. It is tailored enough to look good tucked in and roomy enough for work and play. The seams are doubled and good quality. I did not find mid seam knots, broken threads, etc. Seams are likely very durable. The Goodthreads shirt is a little more expensive. It is a little thicker and softer. It is almost a flannel. However, the thickness and softness caused it to shrink more in the dryer. It loosened OK as I wore it, but I think after multiple washings and dryings, the Goodthreads may get a little tight. I have no concerns with the Essentials.Good shirt.

Like my Dad's oxford shirts!
I bought this shirt after looking everywhere for a 100% cotton oxford shirt to wear over a tank for sun protection outside. Apparently, not very many manufacturers make them anymore - most tend to have "stretch" or "wrinkle-free" as a feature, whichmeans added lycra or something. For casual wear, I buy the men's shirts if I can due to my height & long arms. This shirt in Medium, Slim fit is roomy but not huge - I have a 36C bust.Shirt seems as well made as the Brooks Brothers shirts I used to borrow from my dad in the 70s. Comes out of the dryer soft and gently wrinkled all over. I like it.

Fine shirt, if you don't mind ironing
By Oxford shirt, it reminds me of those traditional Ralph Lauren shirts. Medium thickness, not silky smooth and thin, for the fabric. It's definitely not wrinkle-free. The tag says 100% cotton (which I like) and made in Vietnam. I wear 15.5 x 33 shirts. This size M fits me perfectly. It's slim cut as described, which makes it look less baggy. It's actually for my son for his prom. He usually wears the same shirt size as me. However, since he is more muscular, the neck, shoulder and chest areas are a little tight. I highly recommend this inexpensive and decent shirt.

Sleeves a tad short. Definitely slim
So I am actually usually a medium tall, or a 35” sleeve. 6’ tall with thin build. I tried the mediums in this and they were super tight. I tried the Large and the body is a nice fit, more like a regular medium, but the sleeves are short, guessing 34”. No way I could dry this and not liking the sleeve length, so will return. Shame because the material is thick and it seems nice quality.

Decent mid-weight oxford cloth shirt
The fabric weight here is a return to when Oxford cloth was a bit heavier than is common now. This takes a sprayer and a hot iron to get nice and flat. The pink is great for those with darker hair and complexions like me.I use this as a casual shirt on the weekends and when I need something fresh after work if I'm going out. It can also work with a tie, though I use a collar extender for a little more breathing room.

Great Basic Shirt
I bought this shirt for my husband as he's starting a new job and needs more button down shirts. The fabric is a lot nicer than expected considering it's Amazon brand. Nice, thick cotton and very easy to iron. He consistently wears a size medium in shirts and this one fit as expected for a medium.

It's excellent
If you can get these at a good price (which I was fortunate to do) it's an excellent shirt with a great fit, the material is good and it's been through the wash plenty of times without shrinking or looking bad
