Accessible and Useful
All of the kids we've given this book to love it. They've shared it with teachers and friends and family. Probably best for 7-12 year olds-- and then there's the one for teens best given on their 13th birthday.

Got it for my Grandson
I got this book for my grandson who is 10 years old for Christmas but he is not interested in it. I find it very interesting and hope in time he will as well.

Inspires learning & community service in kids
We had the opportunity to review a digital copy of 'Make a splash' by Cathryn Berger Kaye and Phillippe Cousteau (Environmental advocate and grandson of the one and only Jacques-Yves Cousteau). It is a guide for kids about how to protect the Oceans, lakes and wetlands. The suggested reading level is Grade 3+ but it appealed to DD7 who is all about animals. It begins by introducing us to the concept of 'service learning'. This involves extending learning with community service projects. Personally I though this was awesome. We have read books about the environment before and after learning about the animals and ecosystems DD often asks what we can do to help. This book explains about helping before you find out what needs to be done. I definitely think it would make an excellent resource to most libraries -at home or otherwise.Disclaimer:I received a digital copy of Make a Splash, in exchange for an honest review to be submitted to Free Spirit Publishing via Netgalley.Com. I will not receive any monetary compensation from Netgalley.com or Free Spirit publishing.

A great learning experience for kids about water conservation
This is a very informative and entertaining book for children about the importance of keeping the world's water clean. With colorful pages and passages written appropriately for kids to understand, this book sheds light on the current situation the world faces with threats to the water on this planet and the ecosystems affected by changes happening on our planet. This book is very well written and engaging. My children loved looking at the pictures in this book and learning about how they can make a difference and help to protect the water we all rely on.This would be a wonderful addition to the library of any teacher or parent with elementary to intermediate age children. Even I learned some things about water that I wasn't aware of, like the fact that we all share 1% of drinking water. If you are looking for a perfect book to begin teacher children about the importance of conservation, this would be a great place to start.Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion on this book. No other compensation was received.
