ReadGerman Potato Salad Can, 15-ounces (Pack of12)

I like this product, it is very good, very tasty. It is a versatile product that can be served as is or combined with other foods.However, I am very disappointed with the way it was shipped. Another item by the same manufacturer was shipped together with this one in one box with not enough packaging material to keep them from jostling about.NINE of the twelve cans are dented (two of the 4 bean salad cans are dented).The box had too much free room and one corner was open and had it needed to be shipped further, the contents would have fallen out.As I said earlier, the product is good but order it by itself so a lazy packer doesn't just shove it into a box with other products with ONLY ONE strip of air pillow packaging material which was totally inadequate.I still haven't decided if I will order it again. I had to discard one of the cans because both the top and bottom were dented so much a can opener could not be used.

While not as good as what I had when living in Germany, eating this brought up a lot of great memories. Having it with a couple bratwurst and some red cabbage made a perfect meal.

I love good German Potato Salad, but I hate cooking it for myself. The product itself I'm giving five stars. READ German Potato Salad is great, well worth five stars.However, camel camel camel can show you, what the price history has been for this salad, so you can decide whether you want to purchase now, or purchase it when the price comes down. Recently, Amazon's price has been going steadily up for they have recently gone through a steady price increase.Meanwhile, it had appeared that every WalMart in my area was out of this german potato salad (or any other). After several weeks of seeing "out of stock" on Walmart.com, I clicked on MY LOCAL STORE, called my local store, and while I was waiting for a manager, saw the button for checking store stock, so I clicked it and found out that my WalMart does carry READ german potato salad on aisle A7.READ's German Potato Salad is so good, I usually eat it cold, right out of the can. The taste of the bacon and sauce is a pleasant addition to the flavor of the potato. Watch out, one serving has 21% of your recommended sodium intake for the day (there are three different kinds of sodium listed in the ingredients).One reason I might, once in awhile, microwave the potatoes is because, when Mom made her GPS many years ago, it was always better the second day than the first. But, the problem is that I'd be likely to finish the salad before it could ever get to the second day. Hey, maybe I'll nuke it Monday, then wait until Tuesday to eat it?If you enjoy experimenting, do try some of the recipes that are on the back of the cans, like BBQ German Potato Salad.I highly recommend READ GERMAN POTATO SALAD.John

I have bought this German potato salad several times online now. It's not available in the stores on the west coast. It's as good as I can make myself.

I can remember eating this when growing up in the Cincinnati area. Now that I live on the west coast, it is non-existent at the stores in my town. So glad to see that Amazon is offering it--and at a subscribe & save deal. To those of you not familiar with German Potato Salad, it is NOT mayo based, but rather more like a sweet & sour sauce. Very unique, very tasty. Thank you Amazon for making this product available.

this is great for camping and road tripping. While it isn't like mom used to make, it is close enough. It is easier to take than conventional potato salad and fills the bill. I just add a little bacon and maybe sliced green onion and it's good to go.
