XS Sight Systems ML-6000R-N Lever Scout Mount, Marlin 1895 .45-70, 450, 444

I think that XS has the market on lever gun scout mounts. This one fit perfect on my M1895GBL. I have not used it yet but it feels rock solid. I am not a fan of aluminum mounts but for this application it seems fine. Finish is attractive and the rail is concave allowing a lower mounting option. The only thing I dislike (appearance) is the huge bolt in the dovetail. I think that they could have accomplished the same fit with two flat screws. Shipping was super fast.

Got this Scout Rail for the Marlin 1895GBL. Shipped fast in XS’s tube packaging. I put a red dot on since it was going to be a close-in brush gun. Had the Rail installed in less than 5 minutes. Make sure you have some quality delrin or brass punches ready to pop off your dovetail buckhorn rear sight. Everything fit nice and all hardware was included - except for one rear receiver mount screw. Hey, these screws are small and it can be missed - I get it. So I contacted XS directly and Monte, the Production Manager, sent me a replacement. Customer service is top notch!

I bought this for my marlin 1895. It went on easily. I just had to use a file on the part that slides into the dovetail for about 5 to 10 seconds. Use the file on the bottom. Seems like a solid mount. I bought it, some burris medium height rings and of course the burris scout scope.

Perfect product to add to existing XS sight. I finances allow, get the whole one piece rail at one time that has the ghost ring sights included. If not, don't be afraid to buy them separately as I did. I bought the Scout rail because I might want to add a Red Dot to my Marlin depending upon hunting circumstances. You can depend upon XS sights and there are YouTube videos with step by step mounting instruction. The only reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 was because a plastic punch is to be included and was not. I had to improvise. Also, as per the video, I did have to file away the bottom of the front mounting base to get it to fit. No big deal and when I did the fit was tight and great. Don't be afraid to do your own work. The only way to learn is to do, and these sights are a great place to start to improve sighting options for the Marlin 1895 Guide Gun.

Looks mean, I only want to use the open sights so this rail is to hide the notch in the barrel from the factory rear sights. Excellent quality and super easy install.

Medium easy for installation. The tool to drive out the rear sight is too soft, but I had the correct tool on hand.Once that was done , it was a piece of cake to drive the mount into the dovetail and align it.Very nice mount for a scout scope on the 1895 marlin - actually the only mount.

I've installed three of these for the Marlins (two of the 1894's, and one 1895). The secret is use a brass pin punch, and just give a firm tap to remove the rear sight dovetail. The part to replace it will be TOO BIG! No worries! It's intentional because of the variations over the years. Take the screw dovetail include, and just flat push it a COUPLE times across a fine/medium file. Do this till you can get it in just enough to hold, then using the brass pin punch, hammer in a couple hits at a time. once you have it where you think it should be, take the XS Sight, using the two screw mount on the receiver, and attach it. If the screw hole lines up? YOU GOT IT! Now, tight everything down, then make sure it fits well, THEN remove each screw one at a time, and loc-tite it!

pretty much the only rail i could find for my 1895 marlin guide rifle. it was pretty easy to install and it bolted down solid. itll see some rough use this winter but so far shes held up on the range so i feel pretty good about it
