A few bucks spent on this could save your RV camping trip
Funny story! I bought this "just to have in case". We are new to RV camping and after reading and viewing so many blogs on water connections there were a fair number of horror stories in every imaginable way water could possibly go wrong. I didn't see a post on not having this coupling joint, but when I came across it, it got me thinking. What if I pass this few dollar item up and we end up needing it? Well! We did need it so far 1 time in our 6 locations and I am SO glad we had it. We would not have been able to get potable water for one 3 day leg of a recent trip. We carry a water bin with various supplies and in our opinion it's a no brainers must have.

Beautiful fitting but the threads will cut you
This is a great looking fitting but the threads are so sharp they cut my finger while tightening it into a male hose end. If you decide to buy one of these, be very careful and wear leather or Kevlar gloves while handling it.

Really well made
I ordered plastic version last year and I had to destroy them during spring changes, because they would not release. I ordered these metal ones this year and they are sturdy, will not distort under use and haven't given even a hint of failure.

Watch the threads
Does the job--'large burs left on thread, easily removed with a bit of sandpaper----,the burs are sharp enough to cut you.

Careful handling, threading is very sharp!
The make coupling was very hard to insert into a regular hose as the size appears slightly too large and it requires a wrench and vice grip to properly tighten. Even with these tools, the hose still leaks at this connection point because I could not tighten fully. I used my fingers initially without success and ended up with several cuts on my fingers as the threading was extremely sharp. Be careful with this product.
