It works and it's $12.
It works. No, it's not 500 watts, I agree with the other reviewer who thinks it's about 20 watts per channel. It's adequate and it cost me $12 shipped, so I'm not complaining. I've had so many stereos stolen from my Miata that I lost count. This one is hidden and works fine with my phone.I was a little confused about the three power wires (the one in the photo on amazon only has two). In my Miata, I used the continuous 12 volts lead to to the positive connection, the switched 12 volt lead to the connection labeled "REM", and ground to ground. That worked for me, and the amplifier switches on and off with the ignition.

I bought very nice speakers and very nice mounts and a very cheap ...
I figured it would not be 500 watts and that was a given. I was rigging up a sound system on my motorcycle and bought this. I bought very nice speakers and very nice mounts and a very cheap amp. I got what i paid for and it does work. I could not hear the music when driving over the exhaust and wind so I upgraded and I'm very happy now! 3 stars because it does work and it does make sound and it does look just like the picture. but it does not put out more then about 15 watts a channel

badass
i saw a lot of bad reviews for this thing but since it was cheap i went for it. i was amazed at how much bass this thing can handle, i needed it for a little home project i was building and this thing does exactly what it says! hooking it up was a little bit confusing but after tinkering with it for awhile i got it all figured out. i dont know if its actually 500watts or if the usb port works because i don't use it but what i did notice was it needs a little bit more volts and amps in order to get the desired sound output.

Over-rated
The 500 Watts is very deceiving. It must be a peak rating based on two 2 ohm speakers. Even the description has three different ratings listed (500 W, Max 40 Watts, 75 x 2 @4ohm). I kind of expected that based on the price. The quality is ok, but I have AA powered portable radios that are louder than this. The second star is for the USB power port, very convenient if the amp had enough power to be worth anything.

Great at what it does.
I use this thing to amplify the PA system in my car, and it works great. It has a high pass and low pass switch which is real nice because it the PA speakers sound real bad when bass runs through them.My only problems was that the product states "500 W Watts". Now by all technicality it just says "500 W" then "watts" so it doesn't really mean 500 watts, but the average consumer won't figure that out until after they bought it. Another thing is that the power cable doesn't follow any nation's color code at all, but seems to adopt the same colors as America, so it gets very confusing. However their system is Red = Ground, White = Hot, Black = Remote power.Overall, however, I happy with my purchase and it's really nice for amplifying PA systems or anything else that doesn't create much power on it's own.

It's good.
The amp is decent. But beware! The wire colors doesn't match what the norm is in the US. If you know how to hook up amps it's good. For someone that doesn't, find someone that does. Use the symbols on the amp to wire it and NOT wire color. Sounds bad but it's not. I mean for $11 you cant lose. The usb port is a very good idea, and handy when you are floating down the river. Good PA Amp, wiring.... sucks
Got this amp for my trucks PA system, works great, however this is my second one due to the other one going out after 30 days of very little use. No problem to get a replacement for it however. However the wiring.... it sucks, none of the wiring colors match up so make sure you have a multimeter handy, otherwise you could blow out your amp. Would recommend.

not what it ses it is .
I was just replacing a 60 watt factory amp just for a little clarity and it did that but don't go past the half way mark on the amp . It gets so hot you can't touch it and I didn't even get to 100 watts on it before it started that . Only get this amp if it is going to put in a open place ware air can be blown on it . And it is only in real time when tested 150 watts . I have been ase certified for almost 10 years now and this amp is only ment for a add a amp not to replace one .

Type on number
500watts peak? More like 50 watts peak. But a good price for DIY portable speaker projects
