Barely out of the water...finish line.
An older guy without much running left, and having an interest going back to when Ironman was begun, I needed to find out... This book is the answer, got me into the pool where I went from a panicky 50 meters to being able to swim a mile, then onto a bike where at least my running background was helpful...and yet tips on pacing, cadence, set-up of the bike...very helpful, and onto the run---and the finish line... Wonderful feeling, exciting to have this variety of training options, may never do an Ironman but just might dive into a half-Ironman... LUVTOTRI

Calmed a first time competitiors fears
This quick read and easy to follow schedule calmed my fears as I prepare for my first triathlon. I like that it has a second training pattern for me to follow for when I want to improve my times also. Great investment for me.

Meh
The training plans are well-outlined and structured, but the rest of the book is kind of like “well, duh.” It’s written very honestly, though.

Not actually formatted for Kindle - get the print version instead
I'd checked out the book from the library and liked it. I bought the kindle version so I could see it on different devices, but never found one that could provide a reasonable viewing experience. The Kindle version of this book was clearly not formatted for a kindle. Made it useless. Had to buy the print edition later, which is great (the content is great, the kindle format was just horrible).

Great for the beginner / intermediate
This will get you started in the sport. An easy read! The workout plans are straightforward. This helped motivate me to get in shape for my first tri. There are helpful tips. Not a complete guide but the workouts are the main part. Super great!
