Great read!
This book takes what we already know about ourselves, and allows us to understand the actions we take. We have all talked about how “if it’s meant to be, it will be” or “trust your gut.” However, a lot of times we go against these claims, and it is not until we put everything in perspective that we really don’t understand how the “What Ifs” cannot be proven. I recommend this book to anyone that wants to further understand how life has a purpose, and needs to understand how life can push us to extremes.

Get past the wall, find the hinge
I read this book as a golf professional that works with people trying to improve their golf games, and it was very helpful for that purpose, but I got so much more out of it than that.The idea of the hinge being a crucial moment in our lives that we have to act on, or at least be open to allowing it to happen, is incredible. I can name so many hinge moments in my life for all kinds of events, both big and small. Before reading this book I realized that those events got me to where I am today, but I now understand the power I had by accepting those events into my life. I also now have greater power going forward by allowing myself to be open to "hinge moments" and being ready to act on them.A great read for anyone trying to better themselves and grow. "It only takes one!"

Excellent book on achieving mental toughness.
I have read many self-help books. Most are fluff and only serve to help you feel good while reading them. The feeling usually passes after the book is finished.Not so with The Hinge. One of the first books in this genre to use research and facts based on how The Hinge works. Most are based on sports and players but you do not have to be a fan of sports to enjoy the stories.That's because the hinge involves all of us. It's based on the moments in our lives where someone makes a difference or something. Refocusing after mistakes and learning from them.It's a quick read and in fact may have been just the hinge I needed to turn things around for me.Highly recommended.Good job Mr. Bell.

Good thought provoking book.
This was a good thought provoking book that helped me really think about other aspects of the world around me. So often we only think of the moment at hand and not the last of the future.

Amazing
My name is McKenzie Meacham and I absolutely loved this book. I have read it twice now. As I was reading, I was highlighting, and marking up all the blank space with notes. I am frequently reading mental toughness and sport psychology books and I have to be honest, this is one of my favorites! Rob makes the text easy to understand yet complex enough to keep you thinking. This book is perfect for anyone, teams, or just individuals trying to improve. I did a book review on youtube about this book and got great feedback from readers!

Athlete or not, this is a must read! - Straightforward, easy, and thoughtful!
The words "Mental Toughness" and Dr. Rob come to mind when I'm on the treadmill ready to quit vs. going another mile, in the office when I need to make a tough decision that affects hundreds of employees or putting it off, and in my personal life where I am the father of two boys that can drive me nuts and I may be on the verge of losing my patience, or staying focused and disciplined. The book is an excellent easy read with brilliant real life scenarios that provoke the mind. There's much value in teaching someone to fish rather than handing them fish. Dr. Rob does just that... he teaches!

A must read for anyone (not just the athlete)
Just the analogy alone is perfect. Life is full of everyday people, places, and events that can shape our lives but often times do not. Dr. Rob Bell takes you on a journey that travels the paths of many peoples lives and while doing so illustrates the importance of being ready to act when your hinge moment or moments present themselves. Dr. Bell's writing is clear and can speak to all of us as he describes not only hinge moments and their effects in celebrities lives but also includes personal experiences that I think make the whole book real. This is a must read for everyone because we all need to be more mentally tough!
