Holds its shape
This Rosco foil is a good thickness and holds its shape. I use it in my photo studio to control light. It has a nice matte finish and is reusable over and over again.

perfect for precise lighting mods
Been using this stuff for years, but finally needed some more. Use primarily for snooting for small items, especially food shots on location. Works great, you can bend it just the way you need it for each shot, make the snoot very small and pinpoint or larger for hair/rimlighting for portraits. Doesnt take up hardly any room in a lighting kit bag or camera bag. I just keep a few pieces for a couple of strobes, if you are careful you can bend the foil several times without breaking, then just flatten for storage in your bag. Nothing works better, no custom modifiers are as useful as this or as portable. Great stuff!!

Cinefoil is like Duct Tape for Photographers
Whenever you think of an issue within photography that you may have on a job, Cinefoil as a fix usually pops into my head at some point in time. There are so many uses you can create for this. It'll provide a shade over your lenses, you can use as a flag, you can use as a grid... Also, it can be recycled!! Countless ways. It's a little pricey but good thing is you can keep it and use it over and over.

Great quality for filmmaking
I work in the film industry, and we use this stuff all the time. Light leaks from ARRI kits? Black wrap that. Glowing green exit sign? Black wrap that! Lens flares and your DP forgot his matte box and the grip truck is parked 6 blocks down and you don't want to send a poor PA running in 100 degree heat to go grab it? Just black wrap that! For those who don't know what this stuff is, it's like very heavy duty aluminum foil, but in matte black. It absorbs light and prevents it from bouncing, because it is coated with a special paint/chemical that allows it to behave that way. It will NOT smoke or catch on fire. However, there are people here using it for grilling and BBQ and I think that's a terrible idea. The coating on this is probably not food grade or free of carcinogens and chemicals. Please don't use it to eat with. Go buy some Reynold's Heavy Duty.

So far so good.
This stuff is crazy light weight. It manages to be infinitely bendable without cracking and breaking yet it weighs less than aluminum of the same thickness!!! What kind of science magic is going on here?!?!? I bought this to use as a windscreen for my hiking cook setup. It performs better than anything else I've used and its lighter than most Titanium windscreens! I'm not sure how this is possible but the Cinefoil is a real winner. I unfold and refold it during each usage to store inside my cook pot. I wasn't happy about having to purchase an entire roll but I'm glad I did because I will likely be using this stuff for a long time. After a few months I'm still using my original piece. So far so good!Summary: If you're planning on using this stuff for a windscreen for your cook pot, buy it. You wont regret it. My windscreen is waaay oversized and still weighs less than 1oz. The paper clips I use almost weigh more than the Cinefoil.

Great option for those who do not need permanent snoots and other add-ons
Cinefoil is like duck tape for filmmakers - you can make it do anything you want when it comes to lighting. The foil works with the tungsten lighting as it is able to adequately handle the heat.

So nice to use fresh piece of cinefoil!
First time in a long time I've used some cinefoil that hasn't been, shaped, reshaped, misshaped and stuffed in my work bag. Nice and clean.not for long.
