This is a well made caddie. Works well for stability and low angle shots. Putting this on a scale system should prove very useful.My only complaint is the shipping packaging. The caddie is shipped on flat cardboard with a small built in box for the accessories. This box is very poorly made, and allows the wing accessory to tear through the box and fall out. My first shipment had no wing, so I called Amazon, who sent a replacement. That package also lacked the wing, which had torn through the box. In both cases, it was clear that the wing had fallen out before it packaged for shipment to me. Amazon suspended shipment to investigate the problem, and refunded me the cost of the wing. I bought the wing separately.I recommend this system, especially if you need to mount a recorder, lights or a monitor on your rig, and you don't want to spend a fortune.Finally, the rig is a bit flexible, which bugged me at first. But it actually seems to help smooth out the shake, which in turn makes shake correction work better in post.

The reason a three star rating is due to packaging and NO instruction. I had to go online to Youtube to see what comes with the unit and how to put together. Being its the first time using it would have better if instead of useless sticker would be to have instruction booklet. Also there was one attachment that's not even shown on the ad. It is a cell phone mount. Also without instructions it made it harder to figure out how to add the accessories. I have yet to try it but hope to soon.

Stability great weight is easily balanced, versatility is awesome many ways to mount accessories. With all accessories mounted in picture still very light and stable must buy

I purchased a Scorpion EX and an  Opteka X-GRIP Professional Action Stabilizing Handle for Digital SLR Cameras and Camcorders (Black) . I returned the Scorpion and kept the Opteka, here’s why:The Scorpion is made of metal, the Opteka is thick plastic. For stability and longevity, Advantage: ScorpionThe Scorpion has no shoe accessory for mounting a mic or light, that’ll cost you an extra $18. The shoe accessory can be mounted anywhere on the handle and the shoe plate is adjustable but you gotta use a hex wrench to do it which takes much longer. The Opteka has an included shoe accessory which cannot be moved but the shoe plate is adjustable with the twist of a knob. Advantage: Opteka (Quick side note: the hex wrench was not included with the accessory kit I bought)The Opteka is tripod-mountable with an included threaded knob. The Scorpion is tripod-mountable after you purchase the cheese plate for about $48. Advantage: OptekaIf you need to mount more than one accessory (eg, light and a mic), you can do that with the Scorpion after you purchase the accessory wing and another shoe accessory or flashner, or you can get the 3-piece kit for another $50. I’ve seen no attachments you can purchase for the Opteka. Advantage: Scorpion, after spending more money. (Quick side note: the accessory wing I ordered was missing a critical screw so it could not be mounted, thus it was essentially useless.)Color, the Scorpion is black, Opteka comes in a variety of cool colors. Advantage: OptekaPrice (as of this writing): Opteka-$19.95 Scorpion-$63.95 Advantage: OptekaOverall, if you want a fairly stable handle and room for one accessory, the Opteka is by far the better value. If you want to add multiple accessories you gotta go with the Scorpion but its going to cost you. In my humble opinion, Cam Caddie charges WAY too much for their products.

I bought this to use with my gopro 3+ and I am definitely satisfied. I added a shotgun mic and it works great. Not that I do much recording of skaters and the like but it was really helpful in me adding better audio to my hero3+.

This product is great, the only thing is that when I try to attach my LED light the wholes are big enough to insert the LED light. Its durable and I use this almost every week. Its a bit pricey but it is a good product

If you plan on using your Battery grip - its going to be a supertight fit or may not fit at all. It you plan on using a follow focus, attached via a L-bracket the battery grip has to be removed. DSLR fit the Cam Caddie better if you don't use the Battery Grip. The mounting screw for your camera could easily get lost because it is not attached to the bottom of the Caddie. Other than these limitations for DSLR it will work for low angle shots.

Great product. Great for adding accessories. Definitely improved my hand held DSLR video. Looking forward to using it more and expanding the system.

Great setup for beginners or pro but it does not have go pro addapter

The Cam Caddie is alot stiffer and better constructed than the opteka handle i've been using, one problem is that the hot shoe bar that allows you to use multiple accessories seems to be to small for some of my hot shoes to slide into.Also another thing is that I normally attach my handle to my bag by using a carabiner, and the little holes that would work ass the attachment point on the handle seem to be to small for my current carabiner. It's very small and it looks like ill have to look into some low profile ones.Final thing is it kinda sucks that the screw/knob you use to attach your camera isn't attached to the handle and I'll probably end up losing. Not sure if its easy to by replacement knobs.Otherwise I am liking the cam caddie scorpion.

Holds nices I can get alot on with the starter kit my old phones come in handy.

The description says "Starter Kit comes with the Cam Caddie Scorpion EX and our 3 basic accessories: (1) Accessory Shoe, (1) Accessory Wing and (1) 1/4-20 Flashner/Converter."In the package I received today, it doesn't say accessory wing is included and it didn't come with the wing.Before even trying the product quality, I am very confused and dissatisfied with the package contents.
