These were an amazing buy. I think I paid like 1/4 of what they wanted at Lowe's and even ended up with a few extra. They are sturdy and worked great for anchoring our deck posts. If you are using what is called 4 inch posts but is really closer to 3.5-3.75 then these are the ones you want. If your post is literally 4 x 4 then they may be too tight. There is also a little bit of wiggle room if you need to adjust your placement but not a lot. We ended up having to cut our grooves just a little longer for a few to line everything up perfectly but that was more our fault than the bracket's. If you are in need of more than just one or two of these then I definitely recommend ordering them here and waiting the couple of days for them to arrive. It's completely worth it.

I bought these to put on wooden deck furniture legs that might "sit in water". They were exactly what I needed. Size is right, very sturdy, cost is good. I would recommend these to anyone who might need something of this kind.

Great price. I was a bit concerned about the look compared with the hidden post bases. I ended up soaking these in vinegar, washing them in the dish water, priming with a rust-oleum self etching primer, and spray painting them for a much nicer look.

If you are in need of these particular post bases, buy them! The price in any of the big box stores was almost double what I got these for! With a little planning, and beforehand ordering, I was able to shave about $325.00 off of my project...the post bases were the beginning, then onto all of the attachment hardware...hidden costs that everyone forgets when they are budgeting a deck or gazebo.
