A home run of a book
Baseball is played with the lines; life should be played within the lines of civility, order and purpose. But often we go afoul of the lines and need coaching. Philip Theibert is literally our life coach in his charming and resourceful book. Here are the rules to live by whether on or off the diamond with chapters on attitude, preparation, focus, and character, etc., highlighting that your actions have consequences. Such chapters delightfully describe different aspects of the game reflected by a wise and gentle tutor. Theibert is a most able student of the game of baseball, and of the game of life, and if you want to improve your skills drop this book into your lineup card.

My 11-year old grandson LOVES this book!
This was my grandson's favorite Christmas gift. He has been playing baseball for 5 years, so this was the perfect gift. His parents liked the fact that it kept him away from his "screen games" all Christmas day!

For the baseball lover
I gave these to my father as a Christmas gift. He loved every minute of the book. He had been raised and raised me to love the game.

Great Gift
This is a really nice book. I was not sure when I first ordered, but very happy with the purchase. My husband is a high school baseball coach and has 5 seniors graduating this year. It makes for a very nice graduation gift for your favorite baseball player. I would say it is best suited for teens and older.

Book shows what sports can teach us.
Book was amazing. Ordered two more copies for my granddaughter who plays softball and she loved it too! The messages in this book cross gender lines as well as generation "gaps". It is time we showed the younger generations that sorts are fun and they teach us great life lessons.

If you have common sense or have played competitive you don't need this book
As a high school baseball coach I bought this book to present to my team. I'm not sure who the intended audience is but it sure isn't baseball people. Most of the book is common sense, things coaches have been talking about forever. The author attempts to relate each little section to life, but again, if you have common sense you already know all of this.

The perfect book for kids who are passionate about baseball!
This book has opened up communication between my teenage son (who plays and lives baseball) and I. It ties lessons on the diamond to real life situations. A great read for discussions! Would highly recommend this book. The short lessons are perfect!
