Handy, convenient, and fun for kids
Unfortunately I eat out way too much. That typically means LOTS of plastic straws. I decided to do something about it, and this little straw is perfect! I ordered several different types and brands to compare and this one is by far my favorite. What I like:It's convenient--when collapsed and in its holder, it's about the size of an old-school tampon (ladies, you know what I mean), so it's easy to slip into even the smallest purse. The cleaning brush--I love that the little brush fits right in, so I can give it a little scrub between uses. And the fact that the brush fits inside means I don't have to worry about losing it.The taste--there isn't one. I mostly drink iced tea, so I was afraid there would be some kind of metallic underlay or something, but so far I can't tell the difference between this and a plastic straw, as far as taste is concerned. The size--Fully extended, it's long enough for my giant insulated cup that I use at work, but because it's collapsible I don't have to worry about it being awkward to use with a regular-sized drinking glass in a restaurant. The fun factor--okay, this isn't for me, but for my son. He's 12, and he loves this thing. Granted, I'm sure he'll be less enthused when the newness wears off, but he loves asking to use it when we go out, and he likes the idea that he's making a difference for the environment, too. Win-win!What I don't like:The only thing I've found so far that I don't like is that every once in a while I'll sort of bite on it and it feels weird. It's not a regular occurrence, and usually only happens when I'm drinking while doing something else. It's definitely not a deal-breaker, just something to get used to.All in all, this was a great purchase. I'll probably buy a few more so that I have one in the car, one in my desk at work, one for the kid, etc. It's a bit of an outlay up front, but these things seem to be pretty much indestructible, so I think I'll probably get a lifetime of use out of them.

Good tool for a world without plastic straws
This is the best plastic straw replacement I've tried yet. The single-use options I've tried (paper, bamboo) haven't worked very well, glass is fragile (and relatively thick for strength, meaning the two I've tried had either too small a fluid passage or too large a diameter for a comfortable mouth feel), and the other metal straws I've tried (not sure if stainless steel or aluminium, neither was telescoping) got very cold very rapidly in an iced drink (and one had too large a diameter to be comfortable). This straw has a mouth segment that is, as far as I can tell, the same diameter as standard plastic straws, with a comparable fluid channel, so the size and suction pressure/flow rate feel right. It doesn't conduct heat as well as the other metal straws I've tried - I suspect that the telescoping design disrupts heat transfer a little at the segment breaks - so it's more comfortable to use with iced drinks. It's definitely the most comfortable to use I've tried - it still feels like metal, of course, but it's more similar to the plastic straws it's replacing than the others I've tried. It feels sturdy, though I didn't rate durability because I haven't done anything that might damage it yet; the collapsible design and hard case mean I'm unlikely to wind up accidentally bending it with enough force to deform the metal or accidentally putting anything heavy on it that can crush it, and the case protects it (and the brush) well in my bike bags (I'm sure the same goes for a pocket, purse, etc.).Cleaning is a little involved (and more so than a fixed-length straw), though the brush helps - one will want to thoroughly wash both the inside and outside, especially after any sugary drinks, as the segments can get sticky and difficult to move otherwise. When I use it at restaurants, I'll rinse it in the bathroom after the meal and then wash with soap and water when I get home, which has worked well. I don't recommend a telescoping design if you're the sort of person who leaves dishes for several days - or even just one full day - and then cleans a bunch at once, rather than cleaning them right after use, because this straw works best when cleaned promptly after use. When drying, I recommend collapsing and re-extending the straw once to clear residual water out from the segment seams, which can then be wiped off with a dry towel, before packing it back in its case. While I certainly haven't tried every straw out there, I like this one, and I recommend it without reservation if it's the style of straw you want. There are unavoidable trade-offs between things like materials and fixed-length versus telescoping; this straw is an excellent model of its type.

Saving the planet one straw at a time!
This straw is amazing. It’s small and easy to carry on you. It’s stylish and easy to clean. I tried it on a Frappuccino and it worked fine. The drink did get a little frozen and I slurped so hard I retracted the straw up lol. A minor inconvenience to help save our oceans. Plus it was kinda funny. This would be a great gift to any eco friendly people you may know. It feels good rejecting those silly plastic straws and whipping out your stainless steel wand!

Very good for the price, a little room for improvement
Decent collapsible straw! I was looking for a telescopic straw because I was finding the “my straw” collapsible silicone+metal straws to be annoying to clean. I wanted to go metal because i find certain silicone grades hold on to the flavor of beverages. This straw is pretty great! It’s perfect for small/medium drinks from cafes and is great for a cup of water if I’m out at a restaurant (which won’t be for some time but still) I got the mint color case. It’s sturdy screws closed and easy to clean. There have been a few times where I have forgotten to take the collapsible cleaning brush out of the straw (they all can fit together in the little case which is so nice) but that’s on me and my foggy morning brain. The only reason I don’t give this a full five stars is the straw can be a little tight/sticky when opening it up to a full position. The suction isn’t always good either but overall it’s a good option for on the go people who want to avoid single use straws.

Was good until it wasn't
My review is a little mixed.Got mine about a year ago (april 2022, its 2023)Worked wonders, loved it and super easy to clean.Few months in, a dark spots started forming on the inside of the carrying case. Couldn't get a light down in, to figure out if it was mold or not. Made it a habit to wipe the straw down before use and never put the silicone end down.Recently, after not using it for about a month or two, I pulled it out to use, and it had rusted between the metal and the silicone tip. Not using it anymore. Not repurchasing.
