Great Product!
I bought my kit in ivory from the manufacturer's website after researching the cost of new granite or laminate counter tops. I chose it because it has some stone in it. My biggest complaint was that I couldn't decipher the exact color from the tiny swatches of color they depicted on the site. I think I would have preferred something between ivory and tuscany. However, the results are great! It truly looks waterproof. I chose to remove the sink and replace it after treating the counter top, but you don't have to remove the sink. The directions only require 2 coats, but I chose to put on 3 coats of the color and 3 coats of the clear coat and did only light sanding, because I wanted a textured surface. I still have enough material left over to do a small table top. I am so happy with this product that I probably will buy their deck and dock material for my deck.

Unable to use countertops as normal after refinishing - constant water damage - foggy splotches everywhere!
After researching many different versions of countertop refinishing kits, we decided on Daich Spreadstone. We chose the darker Coffee Bean color. The entire process was not complicated and we did not encounter any issues while applying the product. We waited the entire week before we even used the kitchen for light use. And the visual was stunning. It changed the entire look of the kitchen. We were happy with it for about five minutes. Our problems began the moment we started using our kitchen. Obviously, part of the new countertop was near the sink. Well, we use the sink with water. Water splashes onto the countertops. Well, around the entire sink area, we now have - what I can only describe as - faded, foggy splotches all over. It seems that if water gets on the countertops, no matter how quickly I wipe it up, a foggy splotch is left behind. I don't know if this is an issue because of the darker paint, but when water meets this surface, fogginess appears. And since the topcoat has a great shine, it is very noticeable. At this point, no matter how nice the kitchen looks, I am unable to use it in a normal fashion. My daily routine is to lay down oversized dish towels to accommodate the area I am working in. So, when I am using the cutting board, I have to line up my dish towel to cover the entire area underneath. I am a paranoid mess in the kitchen and jump up when I hear anyone using the sink. When I contacted Daich about this issue they suggested rinsing the areas that are foggy with vinegar 5 times. They said that it could be an area that did not air out right. However, you can imagine what happened after I tried that - yes, just like the water, more fogginess! Beyond frustrating! I have not used one side of my kitchen since doing this project because I do not want to have to clean the area due to the fact that I am paranoid that using any type of cleaner will dull the finish just like the area near the sink. Any time I spend in my kitchen now is a nightmare! The other day, there was a drop of food sticking to the countertop, and I wiped it with the soft side of the sponge. It now has a dull, foggy finish the size of a half dollar and scratch marks. It literally looks as if I sanded that area. I am so disappointed in our choice to go with this product. I hate having to baby the countertops and not use them as regular countertops. Using dish towels underneath every single movement is not fun. And not sanitary. We are exploring other options at this point. Our kitchen counters are entirely unusable as normal counters. We can get away with extremely, extremely light usage, but in no way is it a functioning kitchen. Regardless of how easy and great the installation went, it failed bigtime because we cannot use our countertops as normal.

Easy to use and be cautious but worth the money
It went on easy and I love love it! We got the wrong color in our first shipment and Amazon fixed the problem quickly. I appreciated that. It was easy to put on but be careful with the edges. The tape was difficult and did come up so we caulked with black caulk. I put felt under everything that sits on the counter as I've read reviews that it isn't super tough. We are going to make our own trivets since that's what the website says to use. Currently I just have pot holders. Now we are ready to redo our cabinets! Thank you for a beautiful countertop!

100% Satisfied with the SpreadStone Countertop Kit
We covered our old laminate countertop AND our kitchen table with the SpreadStone countertop product in December of 2011.We wanted a good looking result that we could "live with" until we made a decision on a more expensive upgrade. As it turned out, we absolutely loved the results and have no intention of changing ANYTHING. It looks beautiful just the way it is and we see no need to do anything else. This product took our existing laminate countertop base and turned it into something completely new for a fraction of the cost of other countertop alternatives. Our original intention was to just do our countertop, but after we experienced how easy this product was to use, we went ahead and did the same thing on our kitchen table. We used the ivory color kit on the countertop and the black color on the table with excellent results. The table looks new and very elegant now in combination with the wood legs. The countertop has also performed beautifully with impressive durability, showing no signs of wear. Everyone loves the authentic stone look as well. For its performance, simple application and stunning appearance, we give the Daich SpreadStone Countertop Kit top marks.
