The New Hexagon: 52 Blocks to English Paper Piece

Lovely idea but lacks detail!
I was disappointed with the instructions in this book I thought they could have been a little more detailed. The author should have given the name and size of all the shapes on every page. This would allow us firstly to check if we already had the template or pre cut or alternatively to go out and buy them. I sat for ages working out what exactly the shape was and then measuring it. Photocopying from a book with a spine, on a home printer and then the cutting out of all the shapes is a recipe for disaster. I love the idea she has come up with and the finished quilt was lovely; it is just a shame, I think, that the book doesn't make the journey easy.

A great book
There has been a lot of buzz recently about millifiori quilts and in 2015 there was a quilt along by Katja to make a millifiori quilt using the blocks from this book.I like this book because it takes the humble hexagon so often used in English Paper Piecing but gives it a twist - 52 twists to be precise. Very nicely laid out and easy to follow. The details for the millifiori quilt are on her website but you will need the book though. The only thing for me that lets the book down, and it is a small thing and it is a purely personal thing - glue! The book strongly advocated the use of fabric glue to stick your fabric to the papers instead of hand tacking. The simple traditional process of hand tacking and hand sewing is what I love about English Paper piecing so for me it feels a shame to advocate moving away from traditional methods. But it's purely a personal matter.

A really fantastic book
I have just downloaded this on my kindle it looks so interesting, lots of different variations on English paper piecing, very clear instruction. It's great to have it instant on the kindle but I think I will have to buy the book for my sewing room too. Excellent.

A brilliant book to have in any stitcher's library
I got this book after seeing fellow EPP stitchers on fb. Im working through the blocks one at a time and really enjoying doing them. An excellent book with clear and precise instructions even if you have never stitched before.

Loads of ideas
Great book exactly what I was looking for, a book with pattern ideas using hexagons and other shapes. Packed with information all relevant to EPP.
