1) I needed more SQUARE Rubbermaids; my fridge isn't the largest & square/rectangular are the most efficeint space-wise (I'm replacing my old round ones).2) If there's some miracle plastic that tomato or chili doesn't stain (esp when heated), I suspect it's VERY unhealthy. I xfer the contents to glass/ceramic before heating. NOTE: the best way to clean Rubbermaids that have had (non-heated) tomato or chili items in them, is to thoroughly wash them in COLD water w/ soap (Dawn is good) and the soft side of the sponge until the red color is gone before sticking in dishwasher. Personally, I always use the same containers for tomato/chili as even with care, they become discolored.3) I bought three of this this combo (one 5 cup & two 3 cup) because I am lazy & like to prepare food in bulk ahead of time. I freeze the juice of 15-20 limes in ice cube trays & store the cubes in the 5 cup (ditto lemons). I premix & freeze the base of my tomato "gravy" in the 3 cups. BTW, if you freeze tomato sauce ("gravy") like I do, let it defrost in the fridge overnight. If you are in a great hurry, submerge the container in hot water (less than lid level) until the frozen product is loose enough to dump it into a glass container for microwave defrosting (personally, I break the tomato iceberg apart w/ a dinner knife into smaller pieces before nuking into liquidity as it doesn't alter the flavor as much).BTW - I *love* the Easy Find Lid products - they're square (more efficient use of space) & they're easier to store.Bottom line: very useful combo.

I purchased the Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid Food Storage 6 piece set for my husband for Christmas. He likes to use this size to take leftovers to work for his lunch. This set comes with two of the 3 cup sizes, which is just perfect for lunches. It also comes with one 5 cup size, which is a little big for lunch but works great for storing leftovers!These clear plastic containers have a vivid red colored lid and are made from BPA free plastic. I love that they are freezer and microwave safe, they are also dishwasher safe. They're easy to stack and the square shape makes them a breeze to store in your cupboard or pantry. These are made in the USA too!These are great quality, heavy duty containers and the lids snap tightly onto the containers. You can also snap the lid onto the base of the container to make it easier to find the matching container. I usually buy containers every year, because by year end I have a cupboard full of lids and no bottoms that match, so I am hoping this will keep them together longer! This was a great price and would make a nice little housewarming gift too. I'd recommend getting at least two packages of these, since three containers is never enough in my household, especially when your husband leaves his lunch containers in his car or at work!

I have a couple of larger sizes of this product that I have used for years and they are still like new. They have great fitting lids and seal well. They do fine in the top of the dishwasher. When I ordered this set I did not realize they had the vents, my mistake for not reading more closely. I wish they did not have these annoying little moisture trapping things but will just have to take them off and dry the area. That is why I only gave them 4 stars.

I've replaced all my misc. storage containers with these, and when I could afford them, the similar Rubbermaid Premier containers. All of them are incredibly compact for storing and easy to find in the cupboard, or the frig, or the freezer. The best part is that various container sizes all use the same lids. The containers stack well when empty and when full.Lids and containers for the regular and the Premier models are interchangeable. The difference in the two models is that the regular containers are cloudy (plastic-y, though BPA free), while the Premier containers are clear (maybe acrylic?) and transparent. Regular lids are fairly rigid and have thin outer edges -- they're easy to crack and break when opening containers right out of the freezer. Premier lids are flexible and have wider lips so that they're easier to remove, even when frozen.For the money, the regular units are great, but if you can afford them, the Premier units are probably worth the extra expense.

I love these containers. They are easy to store and keep food fresh! I wouldn't recommend using them in the microwave, as it stains the inside of the container.

Sturdy, but lids do not seal accurately on any of them.

The 3-cup and 5-cup Rubbermaid containers are the sizes I mostly use for storing food and packing lunch for work. They're spill free on the go. It's great that I can purchase them separately, to extend my collection. I have tons of them, I just stack them and keep them all in a small place.I'm quite satisfied with how these containers perform in time, they don't retain smell and color from food (after proper washing). Maybe if you keep thinks like tomato sauce too much will stain the plastic, but there are a lot of tricks on the Internet to get those stains out.The containers last very good in time, through many every day microwaving and dishwashing. Just don't microwave with the lid on, it will soften too much and loose it's shape.

Convenient, good value, stacks easily, is microwaveable, space saving, BPA free - so a great way to reduce your toxic exposure. I haven't had anything spill out, but I've never carried soup only stews/curries. They are never going to be 100% seal proof but they've been good to me so far and I've used them for some months no.

Although when I first bought them they were great, these are also good but the plastic is not of the same standard.

I am so tired of buying those cheap disposable containers, the lids never fits correct. I plan on using these in my freezer for food storage. The lids are a good fit and the plastic seems sturdy. I don't have a dish washer but they wash fine by hand.

I bought these to store and heat my babys food in. They state that they are microwaveable safe, however since using them in the microwave some of the plastic has melted. I am really unsatisfied with this product.
