I love this gate, it's easy to install, works well, and looks good. It's sturdy too, holds up to my toddler rattling it. I've bought several and use them anywhere I need a gate, not just for the stairs, because there's no threshold to trip over.

this gate was the best purchase after many sub par metal gates and their cheaply made but this looks great and is excellent quality. the ease of installation is amazing and takes about ten minutes at most. no damage to walls like non wall mount gates.its easy to open and close and would fit most oversized wider doorways and openings as its adjustable. best buy in gates

It went on easy for me, even though I’ve never done anything like that before and ended up having tricky baseboards and an annoyingly shaped stair spindle. I had to drill a new hole in the latching mechanism that the gate locks into, as the top hole poked above the base of the stair spindle I was drilling it into, still works great. I installed it at the top of my stairs and it’s been great so far. It’s survived my 75lb dog trying to push through it, my dad struggling to latch it in the dark, and me tripping into it. The eight year old figured it out in thirty seconds and had no issues with it. It opens and closes smooth, you pull it back towards the hinges an inch or so, then swing it open. Have managed to open it one hanged while carrying multiple items and the dog pushing against it no problem. I did discard the anchors that came with it and bought longer drywall anchors at the hardware store for like $3. Glad I did. Would absolutely recommend this gate. Looks better than most on the market and has been wonderful for the few weeks I’ve had it up so far.Edit-had it up for almost a year now and it’s still going strong, no signs of wear

Pros:- Included offset mounts- Included a great template for installation for the hinge side- The wood portion is well made- Includes stop for one-way operationCons:- Installation of the latch / stopping mechanisms has much less thought put into it.- No auto-close- The latching mechanism has to be intentionally latched, cannot close shut to latch.- The plastic portions feel a bit cheap- The sliding operation feels clumsy and not as refined as my other gate from the same brand.This cannot be easily installed on a stairway that doesn't have walls that go at least 3-6 inches past the start of the stairs. I was able to do so but mounted it at 90 degrees. I had to purchase some thing poplar wood to mount the latching mechanisms as they don't provide an offset for the non-hinge side install.If you're trying to keep pets out, installing it above the baseboard leaves too large of a gap. However I wasn't concerned about this and should have went that route, however due to the width of our stairway I would have needed boards to close the gap on the other side regardless.

Love this to keep my dogs out of my kitchen. Looks really nice in my farmhouse . Very sturdy,easy to open and close

This is the second time we have purchased this gate and it’s still our favorite. It works great and is truly a sturdy gate that we have always felt safe using. It’s easy to open with one hand and super easy to install. You won’t be disappointed with this gate and the price is fantastic

First off, this gate does look great. For the price, that's a pretty big pro. It feels pretty sturdy, although definitely not as solid as the metal gates we own. It will probably be fine to hold up to a baby but if you're trying to keep an especially persistent bigger child out you may have trouble.The installation could have been a lot better. There are no diagrams in the instructions showing the completed gate with all the pieces in place. Instead, each step has a low-contrast black and white photo accompanying it. In addition, two of the 8 screws they included snapped off during installation and the other 6 got pretty heavily stripped heads. I had to find other screws to complete the installation because no extras were included.Lastly, it's frustrating that the gate doesn't allow a hands-free way to shut it. Our other gate can be hip-checked shut and it will latch. This one needs to be manually slid into place every time. So if you're coming up or down the stairs with an armload of laundry you'll need to set it down in order to close it behind you.Overall it's fine for the price, and I appreciate how nice it looks since it's in our dining room, I just wish these few quality of life things were improved. At the bare minimum, higher quality screws with more extras provided would've made for a much less frustrating experience.

Easy install and great for odd spaced doorways/ stairways

This is the second of these that we have bought.....they are easy to install and do a great job of keeping dogs and little kids from falling down the stairs. The infuriating thing is the huge warning stickers that are impossible to remove from the wood without damaging the surface....hence 4 stars instead of 5

Me encantó! Probe varias rejas, pero ninguna se ajustaba a mis necesidades. Esta está excelente porque no solo es corrediza, si no que también se abre toda la reja hacia delante o atrás, lo cual es muy util en espacios pequeños. Otro beneficio es que no tiene una barra abajo, toda la puerta se abre y evita tropezones al bajar o subir la escalera. Finalmente el acabado de madera es muy bonito y se ve mejor que las rejas tradicionales. Definitivamente lo recomiendo.

Good gate, straight forward to install. Only downside is feels kind of cheap and after six months one of the corners chipped off. Normal use - opening and closing.
