The CHAUVET DJLED Lighting (Obey6) is a universal compact DMX-512 controller designed for LED fixtures, allowing users to control up to 6 fixtures individually with 6 channels each. Very good controller
Very good light controller. My only complaint is that occasionally it will go into strobe mode without hitting the strobe and the only way to turn it off is to shut it down and unplug it, plug it back in and turn everything on again. Otherwise, I like it for the most part, but I'd like to see more stand alone patterns utilizing more colors. I use it with Blizzard RGBAW+UV lights and it uses the same sequence as the light itself, even though it's a different company, which I'm very happy about.

Lighting Must Be Smooth. The Obey 6 is NOT Smooth
I have an Obey 70 and have been happy with it so I picked up the Obey 6 for small lighting projects that just need some fades and general lighting. First issue was the White and Amber channels are swapped between the Obey 6 and my ProLight LEDJ60s, You cannot reassign the sliders/channels like you can on the Obey 70 so the labeling ends up incorrect and it makes many of the presets look weird. Not a show stopper but a bit annoying. Major issue was the fades. No matter what I did, I could not get a smooth fade. All the fades were jumpy, hopping from one color to the next very quick and the general fades seemed to step down in brightness instead of actually fading. My thinking is the resolution on the Obey 6 is not very good, making the fades jumpy. This WAS a show stopper so I returned the Obey 6.

Terrible packaging, terrible quality, terrible functionality
I am extremely disappointed. Product came in an unprotected box (not the usual amazon box). And it appeared to be smashed in the front and half open. Two of the fader caps were loose in the box upon arrival. It does not operate smoothly. If I move any of the faders, the lights seem to “jump” to different brightnesses. The color default color buttons are momentary so they only work if I hold down the button. Blackout only works when in manual RGWAWUV mode. There is a delay between the time I press the buttons and the moment the light responds and occasionally I have to press buttons two or three times to get them to do anything. I will be switching to ADJ. I always thought Chauvet was a quality company but this singlehandedly changed my mind.

Love it! Auto fade during performance adds to the show

Avoid this gadget unless you are using Chauvet lights of 6 or less channels.
Got this DMX controller to manage a small stage and 6 lights. To my surprise, there is no way of saving presets or scenes from one session to another! This is a major problem as that means the lighting scenes have to be entered every time into the controller. This controller is perfect if you are managing 6 lights or less, each light of 6 channels or less, and especially if you are using lights manufactured by Chauvet; then the color assignment on the board would correspond exactly to the color of the light, which would be ideal; note this may not the case if you are managing lights manufactured by other companies, something I was disappointed to learn firsthand.I eventually decided to manage the small theater stage lighting using a small computer, the dmx light management freeware called Freestyler and a usb to dmx dongle which I got here in Amazon for around 50 bucks (the best rated one); one problem down the road is that I don't think the computer can be turned into a wireless dmx controller and the light from the screen would prove distracting; so the computer has to always be connected by wire to the lighting. Another problem with my solution is that any other person managing the stage would require time to learn the program.I would still like to get another dmx controller, but will get one that has permanent memory capabilities. So that I can record scenes and have the light configuration appear at the touch of a button.
