winner, winner better than chicken dinner
Mystery, of course! Excitement, assured! Even a cat that solves part of it. Egos abound as we search for the killer. You read it and you will experience it.

Would like to give this series six stars
This is a GREAT series. All three books are exceptional. I would suggest reading them all.I really like this author's style--I feel it is absolutely imperative to know the characters to enjoy a good story, and Ms. Klein does this for us. I like that the characters are not perfect--perfect body, perfect hair, perfect face, etc. These people are real and I would like to meet each and every one of them. I'm glad to have the background information on the main characters, where they have been and where they hope to be going. It helps the reader to understand the characters, and the story, what they are thinking and why.The mystery is a good one--a murder at a cooking competition. I didn't figure it out until close to the end, and I was totally interested in all aspects of the story. I like the fact that there are subplots--they keep the story moving and holds our interest.I find the "minor" characters interesting, and they all seemed to contribute to the story, including all the little old ladies sitting in the audience. I hope we see more of them in future books--they are a hoot. The "cliffhanger" at the end?? Our girl has some big decisions to make and I look forward to the next book so she can begin making them. Good luck Poppy!!

This was so much fun, I just love Aunt Ginny, and Figaro was especially good in this one!
I think this may be the funniest in this series yet! Despite the murders or any attempts at murder, there is still always plenty to laugh at. Aunt Ginny is such a hoot when she decides to wear one of her what seems like endless crazy outfits. This time I couldn't stop laughing at Figaro, that little stinker cat! He just seemed to know that someone was allergic to him and kept mysteriously showing up in their room. I loved how he drew Poppy into his mischief too! He did something fairly important later on in the book--won't spoil that, but it was pretty cool.I had guessed the killer randomly, but I had no idea of the reasoning and the story behind their why. The showdown was pretty awesome showing once more that a good chef can even handle a killer if the right equipment is available! I am more anxious than ever for the next book because of how this one ended. It's not really a cliffhanger, since the murder was solved. Just read it and see if you agree!

Poppy seems to be able to handle anything that comes up.
This is third in the series with the character Poppy McCallister who owns a B&B with her quirky elderly aunt Ginny. Ginny’s dream was to work in a professional kitchen. She is excited when a former boy friend asked her to participate in a restaurant week challenge. She thinks she is going to get a chance to follow her dream. She got the title of Pastry Chef and was working with her ex and a very rude chef who is constantly putting her down. Poppy holds her own and helps them win some of the challenges. The whole week is filled with problems and then a murder. Poppy jumps right in to try to solve the murder and reveal all the secrets. Love the interaction of all the characters especially her Aunt and elderly friends, her new romance Gia and of course her cat Figaro. Lots of tension and so many mishaps

Restaurant weeks can be murder
I liked the different premise of this story, but at times the characters got confusing. By the end of the book, it all became clear, and it was a very satisfying ending...also left a cliffhanger to entice the reader to read the next book! Overall, I truly enjoyed it!

No guilt in this pleasure
If books could get Michelin stars, this one would be in the running. In addition to taking the reader on a mystery tour, this one also plops us right in the middle of an intense cooking competition where the stakes are high. Poppy somehow manages not to murder Gigi, the snarky rival for a love interest all while she puts the clues together to solve the murder and whips up one amazing pastry after another. This one reads as easy and delicious as eating a plate full of your favorites cookies - without the guilt.

Poppy’s at it again!
Third in the series, Poppy McAlister finds herself yet again around a murder, and trying to find out whodunnit. This is a fun cozy mystery series, with a relatable main character, and humor intertwined. I recommend you start with the first book to truly understand Poppy’s history.
