My wife was happy with it.

The light is good and focuses where you need it. It's not heavy so moves easily if you need to but that makes it a little wobbly. I'd recommend.

UPDATE: One year later - I still LOVE this lamp!Original Post:I love this lamp!I was worried that it wouldn't be bright enough to read by, since that is what I needed it for. However, it's terrific.I really like the goose-neck upper part that is so easily adjustable when sitting in my comfortable chair. I can bend it out of the way when not in use, and readjust it easily when needed. I can raise it higher for more scattered light, lower it for more focused light, or use it as a torchiere lamp by shining it straight up to the ceiling, thereby lighting the whole room.The soft gold color of the brass fits perfectly with the rest of my decor in the room, and is unobtrusive.The package arrived intact, on time, and the lamp was in perfect condition. It was very easy to assemble, and has a heavy base making it sturdy even on carpeting.I would highly recommend this lamp!

The plug has a transformer that makes a buzzing sound. How difficult is it to make a light that doesn’t buzz? Stick with light bulb lamps I guess.

I'd ordered this lamp last week as I'd purchased the equivalent from Amazon in another color a few months ago and was quite pleased with the product. The brass lamp I received this afternoon is a piece of junk. While assembly was simple, the segments of the stalk and base did NOT thread together properly and came apart without hesitation. While the assembled lamp looked nice, the fit was totally unacceptable. The only way this lamp was going to stay together would have been with dollops of fast-curing epoxy cement on each of the threaded connectors, but then I feared I might not get a refund, so I just put the parts back into the shipping container and returned it to my local UPS store to wait for the refund. This was the second lamp purchased thru Amazon that was a waste of time and a disappointment when it was received and assembled. What a waste.........The next step will be to visit local lamp dealers where we can examine the products we are considering for purchase.

This is truly a reading lamp. It focuses strong light where you aim it without creating a bright light in your peripheral vision. I purchased this lamp after studying reading lamps with adjustable focus lights. This is not one of those. This lamp focuses one standard reading beam wherever it is aimed. The advantage to this design is that it is much more affordable than the other designs - about half the price. For my purposes, this design gives me what I need and is a great value.

I had been searching in vain for a traditional swing arm reading lamp but this is great substitute. The flexible neck makes it easy to get right into whatever you're doing, reading, nail clipping, etc. Lots of bright light. I got two lamps and use one fully extended in a smaller room to provide light in a dark corner. I get many compliments on this lamp. Great value for the price.

This light is perfect! Not only gives great illumination, it is solid and can pin-point specific areas I am working on. I use it to do my artwork and my husband can sleep in the same room in his dark area while mine is giving me enough light to work. This light is perfect for helping your eyes from straining while reading,working or doing anything with fine detail work. It is worth every penny!
