Very straightforward - plug in batteries and point to your ROKU receiver and the remote gets to business right away. Got this as old one stopped functioning some of the key buttons after 3 yrs. Has more on demand channel options apart from usual suspects - netflix, amazon...has also Sling, Youtube, Rdio, and vudu. I dont have the latter two subscribed, however, youtube and others are almost regular use. It's 1 week since in operation...will update if I notice any issues (hopefully not).There is no volume control or voice recognition on this model (I wanted just basic replacement remote).

Exactly what I needed! I was so mad when my factory remote seemingly died out of nowhere. Here I am, stuck with these 2 crazy kids and no access to my trash TV! Thought I would have go buy a whole new Roku. But there she was! Just the right price, with even a string tether on it so I can quit losing the dang thing! Price and packaging was perfect!

This is a nice sleek remote. It is just hard to use with our roku unless you are sitting close and pointing directly at it. My couch is not far from the tv but if I move to the opposite end I have a hard time changing or using this remote. I think our best option next time will be to order direct from Roku.com.

So our dog decided to chew our initial Roku remote. I had no idea that there were so many pieces in such a little thing. We ordered this one and were very excited to find one that was reasonably priced. Remote comes in basic packaging. The buttons have a different consistency that original rubber buttons. All of the buttons work and shortcuts take you to the right apps. In all I recommend the remote especially if you have in some way or another destroyed your first.

This worked immediately when we got it and I was impressed. We are going on our 5th week with this remote and it is functioning much less smoothly than when we first got it. Of course the return window is only a month after you purchase it so we are two days past that.The remote must be pointed directly at the device and usually takes multiple clicks to get it to work. Id rather spend the money for a real roku remote than deal with this headache next time.

I rarely write reviews, but I feel I have to warn the potential buyers about this horrible product. The remote just feels cheap, from it's super lightweight to the weird feeling when you press the buttons. The battery compartment cover didn't fit properly, and when trying to get it to stay closed, the lock tab that holds it closed broke. This was in the first 2 minutes since I pulled it out of the package. Not worth the return process. I currently have the door held closed with electrical tape until the real Roku remote that I just ordered direct from Roku gets here. I should've just done that in the first place. If I were to say give this any positive remark, it would be that you can point it at the Roku and it functions like it should, but that's about it.

Easy to use right out of the box. Im pretty sure we have gremlins living in our house that eat remotes and phone charger cords. This was inexpensive and super easy to use. No setup required! All i had to do was put batteries in it and it worked great immediately! Would buy again- probably much sooner rather than later... .

There is not a lot to say here. This remote works as good at the original one. If you lose or break your original Roku remote, this is a good replacement. Glad I found this.
