This is exactly what we thought it would be and we have not yet used it although we know it will make cooking with a lead over an open fire much easier

For the price, this is a fine lid lifter. It's noticeable thinner gauge bar stock than the name brand alternative, and the lid will rattle around a little when you use it. But it's fine for the price and gets the job done.

Perfect! Bought two. One for myself and one for my father in law who recently wanted to get cast iron for camp like I did. These work perfect on the Ozark trail 5qt Dutch oven from Walmart.

Although I usually grab lids with a silicone mitt, when I do use this, it never slips or fails in any way. Really the only time I do use this is when I have coals on top of my dutch oven, and for that, I doubt you can find anything better.

This is a good quality product but unfortunately it requires me to place my hand right over the pot to lift the lid. The angle of the hook is not sufficient to allow easy use
