I like the warmth and rapport of real-time husband /wife, Warren Beatty and Annette Benning.I adore the Cary Grant/Deborah Kerr classic, An Affair to Remember and was unsure how I’d feel about this version. I loved it. I still place the Grant/Kerr version first, but Benning and Beatty run a very close 2nd. Charming & quite watchable.

This movie is very sweet and authentic. He is a playboy who never truly and unselfishly loved the selfish women he was with in life. He has a turnaround when he starts to truly want to know this woman he meets on a trip. What makes this movie amazingly authentic is that the two people who become in love with one another- and it’s a true love that is respectful and delicate- are actually the two actors who are married and love one another in real life. So, it’s incredibly heartwarming in that. When they look at one another and are helplessly drawn to one another it isn’t a lust-driven relationship, which is refreshing to see especially with the movies they churn out like a factory these days with all the lust. I won’t watch those. They’re gross what they shove into movies. This movie though, the attraction makes sense because it includes unselfishness and humility and a real sense that you know the people want to know the other person for who they are and not what they do or what they could give them at that moment. It’s a beautiful movie.

One of the classics brought back. The cast is packed with the best of the best and the story will take you through a gamit of emotions. Once again, Amazon has the best price and shipping options anywhere.

Okay, I'm not into chick flicks, but I like romantic movies. This movie is amazing because it avoids the pitfalls that alot of romantic movies fall into by not mixing an essential amount of testosterone necessary to keep a guy feeling like he's part of the scenario. (I absolutely abhored Best Friend's Wedding.) Movies that are of the same genre as this: An Affair to Remember? A classic, but by the time I was old enough to appreciate romance movies, I was intolerant of Cary Grant's accent. Sleepless in Seattle had it's moments. BUT, Love Affair nails it! It's funny, clever, romantic... Annette Benning commands the screen. Warren Beatty--I mean, does this movie strike an exact chord, or what? The chemistry is perfect because, aside from the tragedy it entails, it IS a true story! WB is depicted as a famous womanizing stud (which anybody who's been around for a few years is well aware that he actually was). One day traveling on a plane he meets the woman that's his soulmate. The way she 'operates' him is poetry in motion. Bottom line: The cast, the soundtrack, the storyline, the locations, Ray Charles in concert doing a Christmas song, the cruise ship, the walk on an island in Tahiti, the humor, etc. I could go on & on about how much I love this movie. I recorded this on cable several years ago and can't tell you how many times I've watched it. (Now it's on DVD...Y-E-A-H!!!) Ladies, are you having a hard time of getting your man to watch a romantic movie? Well this is your ticket! Take it from a guy, this movie absolutely rules! Just make sure you get some tissues for him too!

When this movie came out, the reviews were not kind, but I’ve loved it since day one. The acting is, of course, superb with Warren Beatty, Annette Bening and the amazing late Katherine Hepburn. The direction was very well done and the cinematography was outstanding. I personally loved the costume design as it never truly goes out of style. The film is a remake of sorts from the film, An Affair to Remember. To group these two films together in comparison is truly unfair. One is iconic while the Love Affair is in its own right, incredibly touching and not nearly as dramatically portrayed. I guess you can judge for yourself. For me, it’s in my top 5 all time favorites.

Very sensible interpretation of a real life couple (Annette Bening and Warren Beatty) in this emotional love story. Second half of the movie more convincing than first half. Last apparition on film of Katharine Hepburn...

If you are a hard bitten cynic stay away but if you believe in romantic love then you'll adore this one. Miss Benning has never been more winning or attractive

IT A WHILE TO COME, AS IT CAME FROM AMERICA, ITS WORTH THE WAIT THOUGH, AS I LOVE THIS LATEST VERSION.

A lovely way to spend a rainy day, curled up watching this remake. Annette Bening never disappoints. The music score by Ennio Morricone is enchanting, and it provides a sumptious travelogue for Tahiti also.

What a lovely dvd, a must watch.
