Black Sands, the Seven Kingdoms, volume 1 (Black Sands, 1)

Great gift for tween.

I got a used copy and it was a bit more used than I would like. But I liked the book.

I have never been a really big reader of any comic book series. I just felt the need to give this one a try. Money well spent. I am in the process of ordering the second volume as my son and daughter will read the first. Very well done.

I never followed Egyptian mythology too heavily (was more into Greek growing up) but overtime I have had more interest in it. This story was a good retelling of some of those gods. It is also the first book to have pages that inform me on characters in the story that I wasn't familiar with. I now have volumes one and two and hope that the series contunes as some point.

Beautiful story, though a smidge rushed. The artistry is beautiful and very well done.

My son absolutely loved this book. I am amazed at how privileged he is to have toys and books with people that look like him. I never had that experience and I am thankful to the Black Sands team for filling this void. We are looking forward to continuing the series.

Black representation matters. Love how he’s setting up the world and story. Nice artwork & well written so far.

My 3rd and 5th grade boy and girl loved the book. I later purchased the DVD.
