So valuable for dementia care
The media could not be loaded. This book is great - and I do appreciate the positive, affirmative statements on the pages. I know that another reviewer stated that they didn’t like the words. I help care for my mother-in-law who has dementia and I bought her several different books in this series (puppies, dogs in costumes etc) for Christmas. As many know, sometimes a dementia patient can see the most lovely photo and think something negative is happening or someone is being harmed. The statements help to ease her and keep it flowing in a positive way. She can look at the photos or sometimes will read the words - depends on the day - but they are there when needed. Repetitive statements like those in the book are well thought out for the dementia patient. This continually reassures and calms page by page.As you may hear in the video I posted, I use the word yes with her a lot as an affirmation when we are trying to create calm vibe. Books like this create a much needed stimulation activity and a good place for energy to be directed. Sometimes for a dementia patient it’s just looking at pages and more often than not, a unique story unfolds that they start to tell in their own words. My mother-in-law can go over and over the pages for a long time as though it’s the first time - leading the way in explaining what she sees and the story she thinks is happening. Positive expression is excellent for those with dementia. This book and the others are simply fabulous.

Kind of wish there weren't captions
Especially when some are repeated over other pictures. And they seem to be all over the place, some captions talk about babies themselves then I guess others are supposed to be positive affirmations for the reader...i don't know, I feel like they should be more cohesive in theme. Also, we're black. It would be nice to see more black babies. 2 obviously black children then 3 more that may be POC but it's hard to tell. Yes the reader has dementia but that doesn't mean such things aren't important to them.

Helpful
I bought this for my mother who has dementia. She loves babies and these pictures bring such joy to her. Also each picture has its own little sentence. The sentence may say I am happy, I am safe, I am content, etc. She looks at pictures and reads these back to me. She will relax, and even repeat back to me, as if these are her own thoughts, the little phrases say. This is a useful book!

WARNING: Text states book is for people with dementia
I purchased this for an elderly relative who lives alone and is isolated by the pandemic and winter weather. I chose this one specifically because its description states "The book does not mention dementia, memory loss or anything that could cause distress or embarrassment to patients." The description is incorrect. The package was delivered to my relative 15 minutes ago; she already called distressed because the book specifically states in that it is intended for elderly women with dementia or Alzheimers. The recepient is rightly offended and I am angry. I told her I wasn't aware of its target audience. You may also want to know that the invoice in the package likely states that it is for dementia or Alzheimers patients also, something I did not consider.

Wonderful book for Mom with late stage dementia
Mom always loved to read. As recently as 6 months ago she was reading the newspaper. Now, however her dementia has worsened and she's no longer reading the paper. This book is perfect for her now. Lovely pictures of happy babies with easy-to-read and uplifting captions. Thank you ! I will be looking at the other books in this series. I'm hoping to find the following: flower gardens (with bees, butterflies, and dragonflies), farms (with farm animals and vegetables), and weather (clouds, rain, sunshine, snow) and about life on the water (clouds and sky, boats, beaches, sunrise/sunset, docks).

Not worth the money
I did not realize how small this book was when I ordered. I bought it for my mom who has Alzheimer's because she can no longer read books, but loves to look at beautiful pictures. I think if the book was larger (not pamphlet size), it would be more appealing. She has no interest in it whatsoever.

Very expensive for what it is
The photos are lovely but the book is is not good value for money in my opinion. I would have expected it to have cost half this amount.

Great for my Mom
My mother has advanced dementia and this book was great for her. Every page has a happy baby and easy to read captions. My Mom spent hours looking at this.

It is a thin book
The book does have all pictures of babies with positive text. It is a think book however, and the pics are a bit dark I think, not professionally shot perhaps.
