Lots of fun and lots of replay-ability
Tichu for 2-3 players. Lots of fun and lots of replay-ability.Each round you are dealt cards and you have to bid on your hand how likely you feel that you are to win ( 30 points - Very Likely, 15 points - Maybe, 0 points - not worth risking points on this hand ). Odd cards are worth 1 point each, evens aren't worth anything, and the three wilds that you get each round are worth 2-3-5 points. The game goes until someone has emptied their hand. At that point they get 5 points for each card in the opponent's hand, the haggis ( remaining cards that were not dealt ), and the points from their captured tricks. Rounds are tallied together until one player has the designated final points ( I usually play to 250 ).It is important to note that bombs ( collections of wild cards or a specific collection of cards ) may win you control of next play, but the points won in the bomb go to your opponent. So, shrewd play may actually make the "loser" of a round actually score more points.Overall very fun game. It can be short or it can take a while depending on point total you are playing to. Also, just because you get a good start, doesn't mean that you're going to win. There is always the chance to catch up.

My favorite "traditional" card game
My favorite "traditional" card game. I grew up playing traditional card games with a regular 52-card deck, but I felt like I grew out of most of them. I love modern board and card games, not those overly-simple, luck-heavy card games. Haggis is fun for someone like me, for a board game nerd. However, Haggis also manages to feel like the old games enough that people who prefer traditional games enjoy this and can learn it easily without that overwhelming sense of confusion that seems to appear when learning even simple modern games. It's lovely.(It doesn't use a traditional deck, by the way. It has more suites. You can't use your own standard deck. It's worth the low price it's set at.)

but I'm the one in the family who doesn't usually like card or board games
Writing from my husband's Amazon account, but I'm the one in the family who doesn't usually like card or board games. Haggis is so much fun! There aren't a bunch of fiddly rules to keep track of (which is what usually loses my interest) but there's great strategy involved and it moves quickly. Everyone loves it! I bought this for my mom's Christmas present as a joking nod to her Scottish heritage, but we ended up enjoying it so much I'm ordering another for our household.

Learning to Love Haggis
A very interesting, very enjoyable card game. Straight forward play with several clever twists that keeps the players on their toes and the game play fresh and dynamic. Plays so well with two or three at the table. The scoring system is unique and takes a little getting used to. Once you learn it, you'll find it remarkably smooth and fun. It's a big winner at our table, easy to teach and gets frequent play...earning our enthusiastic recommendation!

Great game, a lot of fun
Haggis is a great game with a lot of depth. My wife and I play it all the time especially when traveling since its size makes it easy to pack. This is a must have for Tichu lovers who sometimes cant get a group of 4 together.

It's a fun game. I like that it is for three players. Not many games are played well like that. It reminds me of Moon- that you play with dominos.

Fun for 2-People
My wife and I love playing Haggis on dates. It can be quick, and it's easy to learn. The cards, even in this latest edition, feel and look great but are a little flimsy. I bought card sleeves for the deck to help protect it for years to come.

Great trick taking ladder game for 2-3 players.
This is a trick taking "ladder" game where the players work to get rid of their cards by laying certain types of combinations. The first player out gets extra points while those who are still in are penalized. It is a clever game with a good artistic design.
