People are surprised
It does not look good but people are surprised that they like it. It has a slight bitter taste like cooked Kale but not nearly as strong. The cheese in it is very good. My kids turned their nose at it but now they look forward to it. If you don't like Indian food, don't worry, this is not spiced like those.

Good flavor but too watery
Very wet. Makes me want to simmer for a while to reduce it. Flavor is good with very mild spice. Unpleasant texture. Best mixed with something absorbent like rice.

It's tofu squares in a bland/watery spinach soup.
Had such high hopes for the spinach paneer; was excited to try it. Read the bad reviews AFTER purchasing, and got scared... The reviews were right. It is indeed watery. Tastes like a really bland pea soup? NONE of those nice indian spices or flavors. The "paneer" is soft and falls apart like the silken tofu you find in a hot and sour soup. Tastes nothing like cheese. I'm honestly 99% convinced it's actually tofu..... I have bought the lentil flavor before, more than once, and it's fine. I mean it's lentils, it kind of tastes like refried beans, and I do LOVE my beans. But I am now scared to try any other flavor. Was going to buy the vegetable korma; don't think I will now.

Too watery, not enough cheese.
Too watery, needs twice as much cheese to be sufficient. Taste is fine.

Easy shelf-stable mom & daughter meals!
We love all the ones we've tried so far! They have rich flavor without being hot-spicy (you can always add heat), and we love eating them with brown rice (often with red quinoa and barley added), plain greek yogurt, and chutney. The Kashmir spinach has a much fresher flavor than other canned or boxed ones I've tried. I like the eggplant one, too, but DD says it's a strange combination of smooth & lumpy. However, she likes all the dals we've tried, and they have some texture, so go figure. Her current favorite is the Madras Lentils, with a creamy tomato flavor. The yellow Johdpur Lentils has a smoother texture and delicate, almost but not quite bland flavor. The Bengal lentils are more nubbly and spicier, but still not seriously hot. The chickpeas (Chana masala) of course have the biggest pieces and tasty if you like chickpeas (DD likes them more than I do), probably the only one I won't order again, but that's totally a bias based on the chickpeas. It's the best chickpea dish I've had, actually. LOL

Terrible aftertaste
Terrible aftertaste. Don't buy it. Also too little salt.
