Smells like a minty fireplace, in a good way. Not in a dirty sooty way. A but like minty sage.Also, the sticks are thin, compared to the usual way they come. I use mine in a closed window bedroom.In a high heat ceramic teapot filled wirh salt, for safety. Never blow on anything burning as it can blow small hot embers and start a fire(that's why they make candle snuffers). With that said, you have to blow the fire out to get the glowing ember wood, so please blow lightly and in a safe direction for example not towards behind your dresser or drapes.You will need to relight them several times so I recommend a butane torch.Just as a sidenote, if you have a safe setup, you can burn them on a small charcoal square. I wouldn't use a full size charcoal puck though as these are small pieces of Palo Santo.It's not the flame burn that you want, it's the hot glowing wood that gives off the most fragrant smoke.Good luck on your sensory and spiritual journeys. These matches are the perfect easy solution to aromatherapy and/or getting rid of post-dinner kitchen smells. Each match can be re-lit (with another lighter) to get maximum use and peaceful scent from each matchstick. I am obsessed with these little guys.

I absolutely adore these sticks. They smelled AMAZING when they were still in the shipping envelope, and when I got up in the morning, my whole living room smelled minty and fresh. I have been in numerous shops selling Palo Santo smudge sticks, and these little matches are the first ones that I can smell the delicious resin. I LOVE "unique". I love it for me & I love GIVING "unique" as a gift. I also love giving "useful"- being able to combine the 2? WONDERFUL! THESE matches fit that bill perfectly! Go ahead & light a favorite candle off this as you wait your 10-15 seconds for it to fully engulf so it can smoulder correctly. Then you can smudge to clean your chosen area(s) -if that's your belief- or just set it in a safe spot to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL scent! You MAY have to relight, BUT if done right (and Max has a video showing how!), it's not often .These are a sturdy thick bunch of matches- comming in ALL(thickness) sizes & a decent count for the price- not ONE skinny straggler in the pack! The storage box is lovely as well. The scent after blowing out the flame & the smouldering begins? Heavenly sweet!If you have questions, Maxwell's is SO kind - they are one of the best sellers I've dealt with.My advice? Why only get one? Buy a couple of packs(at least!) -your home will small so nice, SOMEONE will want some- so get some to share with those you love! You really won't regret it!

purchased these as a little novelty item alongside my other incense karma but I was surprised to find i honestly love these. they smell amazing. unfortunately with it being Palo Santo it can be difficult to get the whole thing to burn on one light, meaning you will probably still need a lighter, hurting the gimmick of it being its own fire source a little. it also seems to be a bit pricey for the amount you get, and it might be more cost-effective to just get normal Palo Santo sticks.overall though I do enjoy these matches. it would be nice to pick up a box every once in awhile, but if you find yourself going through them very quickly, it would most likely be cheaper to get them in another form. well I haven't used them for such yet I can see the appeal and convenience for their use when traveling.

This is such an awesome idea for palo santos burners! The product turned out pretty awesome too but you gotta make sure you burn it correctly to get the most out of the experience. In addition to the shown instruction of burning each stick at a 45 degrees angle downward to let the flame burn a good portion of the stick at the same time, I'd recommend rotating it in the process like a rotisserie. This is important because you want as much of the stick to get to the ember (glowing red) at the same time as to not having to relight. Hope that makes sense. Also, there are about 15+ sticks in there which is definitely worth the try. =)
