I put this in as the first "retro-renovation" for a 1950s cottage I just purchased. The brass and black finish is unusual, but with black on the rise as a fixture/hardware color I expect it to look "on point" for quite a while. 40W bulbs are on their way from Home Depot, since the ones I liked here on Amazon seem to have a high failure rate (read the one- and two-star comments) after just a few months.Go ahead and invest in a LED-friendly dimmer switch and the smallest wattage of dimmable LED bulbs you can find. It really is insanely bright at full power with 60W bulbs. (It takes your average size lightbulb base, by the way.)

I'm redoing the bedroom in mid-century modern. I was looking for a replacement for my flush ceiling fixture and wanted a Sputnik type that could be hung semi-flush. I found this one and I'm glad I did! I put it together in about five minutes, as it's wired and you just screw sections together. It come with two downrods, a short and longer one. By removing the threaded end from the longer one, I could use the shorter rod and create the semi-flush fixture I needed. I ordered some Westinghouse Sputnik chandelier bulbs and screw in adapters on here and now the look is complete. It won't be hung until we paint the room, but I'm excited to see the final redecorating project! Get this fixture if you're looking for that 50's vibe for your space.

I feel like a star every time I go in my closet. I added a dimmer switch to tone it down when needed, but I love being able to see everything in my closet and on my shelves. The light is really stunning and everyone that has seen it just loves it. My ceiling gave way due to a water leak so this gave me the chance to do something other than the ugly fluorescent light that was there.

This light fixture turns my dining room up several notches! Very stylish, easy to assemble and install.

Love this light! It looks a lot more expensive than it is. It would probably do better in a larger room with a taller ceiling, we had to buy dimmer bulbs and install a dimmer switch because it is insanely bright! It did take two people to install it and it was somewhat of a pain but not too bad.

You probably don’t need 12 bulbs... our gorgeous fixture lights up our entire downstairs and half of our upstairs. But it is a stunning fixture! (We got lower wattage bulbs to try and help and it’s still very bright. We’ll probably install a dimmer switch, but it’s our entryway, so it’s not on often.)

This light looks so fancy and modern installed. It has the option to make it hang lower or flush to the ceiling. Assembly is a two person job, since it’s kind of bigger; unless you’re able to hold the light at the same time your screwing everything in. It took me and my husband about 45 minutes to get it fully installed, including removing our old light fixture.
