DOUBLE EDGE SAFETY RAZOR BARBE BLEUE Model BB9 SATIN FINISH LONG HANDLE

This is an OK razor as the weight and handle length are good. However it only lasted about a year and 4 months. The handle striped out after that from changing the blade about once a week. In addition to this it is not a butterfly so there is a potential to cut your self more easily than with a butterfly drop in style. If you get this cheep like I did to try one great. However if you can get a good quality butterfly for the same price I would suggest that instead.

I've been using this razor for several weeks with good results. The blade angle is not overly aggressive and allows you to make multiple passes without significant irritation. It has a relatively long handle, and has pretty good heft to it. The weight allows you to simply let the razor glide over your face without the need to apply additional pressure. It is relatively easy to find the correct angle and you can clearly hear the blade as it cuts through the whiskers. I recently borrowed an Edwin Jagger DE89lbl from a friend and discovered that the head design and blade angle on this razor are almost identical to the Jagger. Aside from the fact that this razor is heavier and has a longer handle, the shave results I get with this razor appear to be comparable to those I get with the Jagger. The Jagger, however, appears to have a superior fit and finish. The knurling on the handle of this razor provides an effective grip, but the tooling appears to be a bit rough. The razor is made of some sort of metal alloy that is not as sturdy as stainless steel or brass. Therefore, I suspect that the screw which attaches the handle to the head could easily be damaged by over torquing or attempting to attach the handle too tightly. The weight of the razor also means that the head could snap off from the handle if the razor is dropped from a significant height onto a hard surface like a tile floor.

The razor had a nice weight to it and looks great, but the handle stripped from the head after about 5 razor changes. I saw a couple of reviews that mentioned this but I thought maybe it was the user, it definitely is the razor and cheap construction.

Seller very responsive. The razor is as advertised. Very heavy weight. It is the only safety razor I have owned but seems to fit the bill nicely. I have only used a couple of the astra blades but have been pleased with the sharpness. So far it is a close shave but not especially different than my gillette edge. I will need to revisit the review in a month or two when I become more brave.I am curious where the razor was made. There is no indication on the packaging and I am pretty sure the BBNY and BB9 designations are a reseller. All in all a nice razor.

Threads stripped and came apart while shaving. made me cut myself. dont buy this junk.

A friend told me about this classic razor and at first, I was skeptical. However, after receiving it, I was amazed on how well constructed it is. You can tell it's not made in China for sure. Looks like a machinist constructed every single part of this razor. It's heavy stainless steel which gives it an extra edge on pressure points where you need it most. I tell my wife I have baby butt face because it's super soft after shaving. Normally, if I would shave in the morning with a triple bladed G plastic razor, I would feel my facial hair by 3 or 4 pm. With this one classic blade razor, my face is still soft by that time. I will get one for my dad for sure.

Fantastic Razor. I gave it to my husband and he loved it. He shaved his head with it and we were so amazed of how smooth his head felt and without razor burn. I clean it with soap water and rinse the blade, then I blow dried it and added a few drops of baby oil to keep it sharp and to prevent oxidation. This is a great tip!! Love this product and my hubby too.I really recommend this product; you wont regret it.
