Big Book of Geometric Designs and Illusions to Color (Dover Design Coloring Books)

Good thick white pages. Dover has the very BEST color books. Have been using them for years. I would buy this book for a gift and I would buy another one for myself. Lots of great things to color.

WOW! I found out later that this book is actually four adult coloring books in one, with so many variety of images to choose from, I don't know which one to start with! Unfortunately the images are back to back, so I strongly recommend using the softer variety of colored pencils and do not use markers UNLESS you copy a special image that you want to use color markers for a special look. (If they weren't back-to-back, this book would be ranked a 5). Yet, one of the most important factors in choosing adult coloring books is paper quality as it affects the images...and the paper in this book is not cheap newsprint! So give this book a 4.5 rating and buy it if you are in to coloring a wide variety of geometrics and optical/visual illusion images.

This a beautiful coloring book. Very large selection to pick from, and you don’t see many coloring books with geometric designs or illusions. While I was out shopping I did see a few similar books for a cheaper price, however they were smaller than this one. My daughter is happy with the purchase. I would purchase something like this again.

This is one of my most favourite books!!! Normally, I'd give it only four stars because the designs are printed on both sides of a page and the pages aren't perforated -- Dover should publish this as part of their Creative Haven series. However, these designs are so interesting that even five stars aren't enough. Some of them are reminiscent of the drawings of the great M C Escher. The four books included here are: 'Geometrical Design' and 'Visual Illusions' both by Spyros Horemis and from Koichi Sato, 'Dazzling Designs' and 'Optical Illusions.'

The title of this book is very true to its description. It is quite literally a BIG book of beautiful psychedelic geomoetric designs that you can color if you so choose. I found that the best way to use this book is to print out the individual designs that are going to be colored in order to preserve the original. For the price, this is probably the coolest coloring book you could get a person. Fun for all ages - you are never to old to color, right!?

If you want to improve your drawing technique and the skill in your fingertips along with your shading technique- try filling in one of these designs daily with a variety of pencil work and you may see a vast improvement in confidence when you're drawing and shading your own projects later.

The paper is thin and double sided, also can't pull them out easily. The designs are interesting, for the most part, but not for me. I like things a little more complex that cover the entire page, these don't for the most part. Still there's a lot of designs to play with

Love this book! I suggest using color pencils as the pages are printed front and back. But I still love it. This is 4 books in 1. some designs are easy some are extremely challenging.I recommend to anyone who likes the challenges.

Awesome things to color but I dislike the fact that they put a picture on the back of each page as markers bleed so you ruin one so you really only get half a book however for the price I would still buy because it's a big book with many awesome designs to choose from

Die Zielgrppe ist ja bereits genannt, doch wer etwas Neues wagen möchte, ist mit diesem Band gut beraten.Jedes Blatt ist eine gelungene Gesamtkomposition in verschiedenen Schwierigkeitsgraden. Um die gelungene Geometrie wirken zu lassen, rate ich auch hier zu Ton in Ton oder harmonierenden Farbtönen. In einfach bunt wirkt es leicht einfach nur wirr.

四冊の塗り絵本が一冊にまとめられた本。どれも出版された時期は古いものらしいが、なかなか日本ではお目にかかれないから新鮮な感じがする。まずひとつめ - GEOMETRICAL DESIGN Coloring Book実はこの単独本を先に買ってしまっていたから重複してしまった。あっちの方は子供にあげちまおう。2Dものが中心なので一番とっつき易い感じ。でも配色には結構悩む。ふたつめ - VISUAL ILLUSIONS Coloring Book3Dものが多い。でも割と考えやすい。ここまでなら小学生でも何とかなると思う。みっつめ - DAZZLING DESIGNS Coloring Bookよっつめ - OPTICAL ILLUSIONS Coloring Book3Dもののオンパレード。ドミノ板を重ねたような模様ばかりで、しかも「騙し絵」的な要素が満載なのでどこをどのように着色すればいいのか非常に悩まされる。じーっと見ていると凹凸が逆に見えてくるし、正にイリュージョン。表紙はみっつめからのもの。こんな風にできればいいだろうな。両方とも著者はKOICHI SATOという日本人らしいが、米国では子供の頃からこんな塗り絵で感覚を育てるのかな。ちょいとばかし羨ましいぞ。以上のようにコンテンツはとても多く、値段を見れば非常にお買い得である。ただし両面印刷で紙質はあまり良いものではないから、おそらくカラーペンでは裏移りするだろう。もっとも一回で上手にできるとはとても思えないので、コピーをとってチャレンジするのがベスト。
