Disney Sofia The First Talking Sofia and Animal Friends

My daughter loves the "Sofia the First" television show. She never misses an episode, and watches each over and over. LOL She received this Sofia doll as a birthday present, last July. The doll is quite well made, and has endured more than 6 months of "less than gentle" treatment, at the hands of my daughter and her 3 year old brother. Sofia is approximately 10 inches tall. She comes with three of her animal friends; Clover the Rabbit, Robin the Robin, and Mia the bluebird. When each of animal friend is brought close to Sofia's amulet, she can recognize and talk to that friend. Each friend in turn can respond to Sofia. The doll is not one of those cheap, plastic lightweight ones, but has a nice "weighty" feel to it; it weighs around 8 ounces. The arms and head can rotate 360 degrees, while the body can bend at the waist allowing the doll to be placed in a sitting position...the legs do not move. I've read a number of reviews where the reviewer complained about the dolls hair. Honestly, I don't think Sofia's hair is any worse than a lot of other dolls. It's soft to the touch and the cut is stylish. True, once my daughter got a hold of the doll, the hair is no longer cute and curly; instead, now it's rather wavy, but IMO it's still rather stylish. But, of my daughter's huge, and I do mean HUGE, doll collection, there is not a single one that still has "cute" hair once she started playing with them. LOL Bottom line, this doll is well made, attractive, and fun. A great toy for any little girl...especially if she is a fan of the "Sofia the First" show, but even if she's not.

We love Sofia the first in our house so I didn't hesitate to buy this for my daughter. We love the phrases she says and overall she is a great doll. Also her interaction with Clover Mia and Robin is great and my 2 year old thinks its awesome when she talks to Clover! The only down fall to this toy is the hair! Its greasy or something and wants to separate. I thought once we took her out of the box it wouldn't be as bad but the back of her hair was all matted and nasty. This hasn't stopped my daughter from playing with her though and she just loves her. Not sure if I would have bought it again though just because of the hair. Makes it seem like a cheaper product to me. I have read a lot of bad reviews for a lot of the Sofia the First products, especially the plastic ones with the heads that fall off. Luckily this one seems pretty durable. I know she will continue to get lots of love in our home.

Very happy that this doll works with the animals. You hold the belly of the animal in front of sofias amulet and and it speaks. You can also press the amulet for more Sofia phrases.Didn't like the quality of the dress too much. The hair was also stiff and has a weird smell. It feels like there might be some product in it to keep it stiff so brushing isn't ideal with this doll.Seems like there was more effort to make sure the doll works. But that the part we love anyway.

I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. Paid $33. First of all the hair is crusted with hair spray, not soft. Secondly she would only talk to Mia until we took batteries out and then put back in. Had to repeat a few times. Third and most importantly-her head fell off in 2 days!!!! I had to hot glue gun it back on, but it probably won't last. The material used on the body and head is a cheap plastic.

First Talking Sofia set was a hit with its recipient and their parents. It took only a short time for 11 month old child to learn to press the jewel on neck to make Sofia talk. Once small animal friends were retrieved from Xmas packaging, they were used as well. Only slight negative is that tiara came off much too easy a soon, so thereafter doll was dragged around by hair making it an unmanageable mess. But doll and talk remained useable.

I bought this for my four year old granddaughter and she absolutely loves it! The doll is beautiful and well made and she talks! I would not recommend for smaller children because it is small and the accessories could be hazardous to smaller children but Abbey does not put things in her mouth anymore and the size was perfect for her smaller hands. She has spent countless hours talking to Sofia and playing with her along with her Princess castle.Can't go wrong for your little princess.

My niece loved this toy. It is a pretty doll and it talks, so when she opened it she pretty much wanted to play with it immediately. She wanted to stop opening her other birthday presents. That being said, it is not very big and doesn't say a lot. Hopefully she doesn't get bored of it. Princess Sofia is all the rage right now, so it was a good buy. True to form, these kinds of gifts are a bit over priced, but she enjoyed it, so that is all that matters.

Our niece loved it!!

I ordered this for my grandaughter's 5th birthday. As I was away at the time I didn't see her open it, but a text from my son informed me that one of the birds did not respond to the doll's voice, but on return home it seems to be ok now! I ordered it on 21st March and it arrived on 26th March as expected. I also ordered The First colour and Sticker book to go with it which she loves.

Good quality if expensive.Daughter is having great time with it

The hair is really greasy and not equal size. One side is really long and the other is really short.She can't talk with the animals, only with one bird. Even when you switch off the demo version of it.Overall this doll is a completely joke! Waste of money.

I was unsure what to expect re the size of the animals etc, with a 2 and a half year old, but as it turns out they are a good size, and the doll is lovely. Nightmare to get out of the box, using pliers etc to extract plastic tags like those you get to hold on clothes price tags etc, but in the end all good, and a very happy little girl who wont leave the doll alone
