Classic Campfire Stories: Forty Spooky Tales

Our family enjoyed reading this around the campfire during our last camping trip.

Great book! Best feature is after each story is a brief outline you can use to learn/remember all the important details before retelling. Perfect for summer nights!

Stories are easy to read, but not as scary as you think they would be.

These stories are perfect for reading to my nieces and nephews (of various ages) when they come by for a bonfire or the like!

My kids hated this book, it barely kept their attention. The stories are older fashioned and written in language that isn’t used in present day, making it difficult for them to follow. I should have read the stories before leaving on our camping trip, because it kind of left me with no other options (well - not anything, we were able to come up with our own/tell stories from memory). Wouldn’t recommend for this generation of kids.

This book did not live up to our expectations. The stories are unusually lengthy for campfire stories, the editing/grammar is all kinds of messed up, and of the handful of stories we randomly chose to read around our campfire, none were particularly spooky. I would not suggest this book nor are we even keeping it. It went right into the donate pile. Hoping for better luck next time.

Came just in time and I'm happy to have this order! :)
