Extreme whitewater at it's finest.....
I have read the stories of solo sailors racing around the world in the roaring 40's, solo accents of remote mountain peaks, and polar expeditions reduced to a sole survivor. Mark's accomplishments and story belong with literature that celebrates individual human endeavor. Written in an informal and simple first person account, I often felt I was on a remote wilderness river sitting around a campfire with Mark. Great book!

I really liked this book
I really liked this book, but I am really into whitewater. I kayak and cataraft. If you do, you'll also love this book. You will learn a few tips for taking on more challenging water too. Some of us live whitewater and Mark Cramer is one of the great ones.

Absolutely loved this book
Absolutely loved this book. He describes all the feelings I have while running big water. It is really great to get his perspective of the sport and what drives us all to it and what keeps bringing us back. Highly recommended for all white water fanatics.

A good read for any adventure lover's library
Full disclosure.....I have shared many big water adventures on the Idaho rivers with Mark. I've always found it a privilege to run big water with such a solid boater. Be it the Selway at 9 feet, the Lochsa when it's high, the Class 5 run on the South Fork Salmon; I could always count on Mark to run clean lines. Then to read Mark's book, where he has taken it to a whole other level, reaffirms the skill and sense of adventure I've seen in Mark on the rivers we've shared. There is a true honesty to his words that makes the reader feel as if he/she were there. A good read for any adventure lover's library. Steve Jeffries (& Sherry)
