A Very Comprehensive Biography
I am so glad the author wrote this book about Faron Young. I thought he'd been forgotten. His music meant so much to me, but I thought I was the only one who cared. This is a very comprehensive story about Faron's life and his ascent and descent in the world of country music.Weaved throughout this story is Faron's alcohol addiction. It resonated with me, because my dad was an alcoholic, and some of the tales hit too close to home. Yet, it was consoling, in a way. It brought back memories that I'd buried about my own father, and allowed me to relive some painful times that I thought I'd long forgotten.Regardless, I was so glad that someone thought enough about Faron and his life and career to put this in book form.He was a major force in country music for many years, and it's time he got his due. Thanks again to the author. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and it will be a valuable addition to my collection of country music biographies.

Amazing Complete guide to Mr. Faron Young
I Love this book I bought the hard cover and lost it so I then purchased the ebook because I couldnt wait to finish it. I learned i think almost everthing possaible about Faron Young that If I ever had wonder about it was answered. Thier was only one question that I felt need more clarification and I was lucky enough after joining the author newsletter another fan was kind enough to share their knowledge with me. This book was donr very dignified and yet real and honest and that not always easiest of a mixture to pull off but this author did very well. Thank you for putting the time and effort in sharing Faron life story with us.

great read
I bought this book for my husband. He's been a fan of Faron since the early 60's and said he learned an awful lot about Faron's life. And he said it was a "page turner" with lots of photos. Must read for any "real country music" fan.

The Faron Young Story: Good read
I grew up on country music and love to read about some of the stars I use to listen too. There were two sides of Faron, the generousside and the hot temper side. I'm amazed at the lifestyle of some of our big stars. George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty etc. Being a big music star is a tough road to travel, it's a hard life. This book on Faron gives you a side of him i never knew about.I'm glad i bought the ebook but what i didn't know was that the book has a drm lock on it. If i would have known that i would not havebought the kindle version of it. I won't buy another kindle book with a drm lock on it again. The book was good though.

Great book of a great performer
I great book on the life of Faron Young, He seemed to live like many of the songs he sang.I was a person that had the opportunity to see Faron several times and have fond memories of all his shows but one, that one he was obviously under the influence and the show showed it.The book shows his life in detail and I would recommend it for any Faron Young fan.

For any fan of classic country, especiall Faron fans
Fine biography of The Singing Sheriff by Diane Diekman. The author has crafted a very good read. Well researched and well referenced. I learned much about Faron Young, his mostly unhappy private life, his exuberant successes in the 'golden age' of country/honky tonk music, and his sad departure. To those who have said there was not enough about his music in this book, I respectfully disagree. There is plenty about his music, including all the various sideman who comprised The Deputies, his back up band, over the years. I recommend..

Reviewing this book
I bought this book to review it for an on-line magazine. It is about an artist I knew little about. Well written with a few mistakes, for example the American author thought the UK had a Billboad chart, and wrote about Faron being driven to the 'Soviet' border to watch the 'changing of the guard' when stationed in Frankfurt-am-Main in the US army. Obviously what was meant was the inner German border or the border of the 'Soviet Zone of Germany'. Also some better proof reading would have resulted in a consistent spelling of Robin/Robyn, Faron's son. But on the whole it is a very informative book about this singer.
